Black Keys > Black Eyed Peas. BEP sucked tonight. We muted our TV.

QFT.

I wasn't really feeling the halftime show. Also, Fergie was just plain bad. Heck they all were.

Seriously, they need to change the format. Just get one band/performer who can really get the crowd going (and is actually good live), and have them play two songs through their entirety. I'm tired of these montages, it just doesn't work. And Slash? Come on, when have we not seen that. It's come to the point where I actually expect him to pop up during every live TV performance.

As for the game, I really enjoyed it, especially the outcome. I felt really bad for Charles Woodson, he deserved to be out there playing. I do wish the Packers would have ran the ball a little more, I like the way Starks runs with it, and I think he could have broken some really good runs. I'm also glad Randel El had a good game. Even though the Redskins dumped him, I really like the guy.

I enjoyed the game, but was surprised at the Steeler turnovers which really cost them the game. Roethlisberger made some terrible decisions and looked like he had never been there before.

I turned the channel during halftime so can't commit on the Black Eye Peas (Christina Aguilera's national anthem was enough "entertainment" for me), but from everything I read, it was about on par with what I thought it would be.

there were people expecting that crapfest to be good? 3 terrible rappers and a post op tranny butchering any song he/she touches is just a recipe for disaster. nevermind they have no business outside a studio. and apparently slash has snorted his way into the poor house if he's signing on for that embarassment.

but really, the halftime show has been terrible since the bluesbrothers my sr year of highschool.

game: good

anthem: an abomination. not even counting the botched lyrics, her performance of the anthem was beyond pitiful. just because you can stretch every two syllable word into 800 doesn't mean you have to

halftime: it made the anthem seem awesome. they should have recorded it earlier in a studio and just lip synced if that's as poor as they sound live. the costumes on the BEP were asinine and the costumes the dancers were wearing were even worse, especially the ones at the end who we wearing boxes on their head. what the hell is that?

i think it's time to abandon the whole idea of the halftime being exclusively a band with apparently nothing else considered.

A lot of people are trashing on the anthem, and yeah its horrible she forgot the words and it was slightly annoying how she decided to do her own thing with it, but A. SO many people struggle with balancing artistic freedom and doing the song well and B. I don't remember the last time someone was actually on key doing the anthem at the Super Bowl...at least she hits the notes right...

plus Fergie made her look amazing anyways, haha

Don't need to "do your own thing" when doing the anthem. You don't hear people moaning and complaining when someone just sings the song like a normal human being. If people would just sing the song instead of trying to fancy it up they wouldn't be butchering it.
