It has been an odd season already. Yet another great win for the Big South.

Still happy for presby though.

Auburn and the entire SEC West is basically a joke.

* LSU: loses to Nicholls state, Coastal Carolina, and Wichita State. took OT to beat McNeese State and had to go down to the wire to beat Central Michigan
* Alabama: lost to saint peter's, has lost to any team that is even so much as a below average BCS conference team.
* Auburn: losses to UNCA, Samford, Campbell, Jacksonville (a blowout at that), Rutgers, South Florida, and Presbyterian. Barely beat Middle TN State and and Arkansas Pine Bluff.
* Arkansas/Ole Miss: Have beaten everyone they were supposed to, lost to everyone they were supposed to, but basically have played no one.
* Mississippi State: losses to florida atlantic and east tennessee state while getting mauled like a bear going after a 2-legged deer by VA Tech. Had tough, close Ws against Appalchian State, Detroit, Troy

PC takes out Wake Forest tonight. man, we really should have gotten them on the schedule this year.

My brother-in-law is a Wake Forest Alum and I'm going to see him in a couple days. Now I can't wait.

I just checked yesterday and the Big South Conference RPI is 22nd. I went back about 10 years and we’ve never been higher than about 27th.

I think the Big South from top to bottom is better then it has been since I started following LU basketball...I don't think there is that one team that is like WU was for a few years..but from top to bottom all schools are close to competitive.

Even Radford (2-8)? :dontgetit

But I do love this quote from Kyle's Big South Conference website:
Very interesting: Auburn and Wake Forest would each be 0-2 in the Big South right now...AU also lost to Campbell, a member next year.

Take notes checkers.

This team is 2-0 in conference for the first time ever, and in a year when the conference is ranked higher than it ever has been. The 2 wins were both against teams picked to finish near the top of the league, and both of which have upset teams from major conferences.

Too early to brag a lot, but I'm very pleased.

haha good point...there is always an exception to the rule..but my point still stands from top to bottom this conference is much improved

Not a shock. It would have been an upset if Presby had lost to Auburn. The Tigers were somewhere in the bottom 20 in RPI nationally.

Also, Winthrop beat the same Jacksonville team that's taken out Auburn and Florida on the road.

Presby's board has hailed this as a signature win for the program, and someone stated Nibert deserves a lifetime contract.

possibly over-valuing the win, but what do I know

Presby has a front page story on ESP College basketball Page. Good article.

They came to college on a promise, a pinky swear vow that their leap of faith would be rewarded. They would have to sacrifice. They knew that. They'd have to sit on the bench for a year, unable to play while their team struggled without them.

But in the end it would be worth it. Before Al'Lonzo Coleman, Pierre Miller and Josh Johnson left Presbyterian College, they'd have a chance -- not a guarantee, but a chance -- to play in the NCAA tournament.
