From ESPN
The Washington Redskins have decided to start Rex Grossman over Donovan McNabb at quarterback in Dallas on Sunday just a month after signing McNabb to a much-ballyhooed contract extension, according to multiple media reports, which cite anonymous sources.

I don't even know how to cheer for this franchise anymore. It really is disappointing.

I went to my first Redskins game in December of 1990. I have been watching them all my life and I've never seen an organization implode like this. There is absolutely no leadership from ownership down. It seems that everyone needs to go in order to revamp their image. Its just sad.

One thing I've noticed about Redskins fans is that they think they're the Cubs or something. You guys have a couple of Superbowls and an owner who is at least trying even if he is misguided. Just be glad you're not Lions, Bengals, or Cardinals fans.

But Virginia, especially the Richmond area, is so close to Texa... I mean, oh wait. It's close to D.C.

Are you guys suggesting that you can't have a favorite team from a place not near where you live? Or is it because he said "we".

I only said we because I was "quoting" what BYD said right before me. I am a Cowboys fan. I have never lived in Texas. Oh well. When I refer to the Cowboys I rarely, if ever, say we.

He's a Heat and Cowboys fan. Not joking on that one. 8)

Our friend JMUDukes (JMU2012) is a Spurs, Cowboys, Caps, and Mets fan. Do I get it? No. But I'm learning to accept that some people randomly choose to like teams that I hate. And that their mistak... I mean choice. :)

I had a roommate my freshman year of college (and this was in 1996, so keep that in mind when I list these teams) that was a fan of the Braves (which made sense, he was from Greenville, SC), Cowboys, Bulls, Penguins, Duke Basketball (to be fair, he had a cousin that was a team manager for Duke), and Florida State football...now that is how you cherry-pick teams if you are going to do it.

Let me say as a die-hard Redskins fan, it's hard to even watch this team play anymore. I don't even really consider watching them anymore this season, we thought Zorn was bad, but clearly it's just getting worse. My opinion, I feel Kyle Shanahan is the problem.

True, but look where we're going now, we haven't done anything since the last Super Bowl we won Crybaby

Cowboys fan - my granddad and dad were both Cowboys fans which led to me being a Cowboys fan
Yankees fan - my granddad and dad were both Yankees fans which led to me being a Yankee fan
Heat fan - lived just outside of Miami during high school became a fan then, and have been since
UVA fan - from my dad and granddad, had season tickets every year
LU fan - went there

call me bandwagon if you wish, but that's not the case

I'm a Red Sox, Celtics, Redskins an Tar Heels fan. Have been since I was about 3 or 4 years old. We had no pro teams in NC at the time and my uncle was a big Sox and Celtics fan who gave me a Sox helmet around that time an I became a fan for life. I put up with a lot of crap as a kid being a Sox fan in Braves country. Of course now I get accused of jumping on the bandwagon when they got good by people from New England. Oh well, I know the truth.

I probably would have liked the Patriots too but I didn't realize that Boston was in New England. I was given a Skins jacket around the same time by one of my dad's employees so they became my team.

Typically, I would adhere to the philosophy of pulling for the team where you are from. When there are no pro teams in you state/adjoining states when you're growing up, you're free to pick whoever you want.

Maybe so. I asked my dad once about why he and his dad grew up liking the Cowboys and Yankees. They lived in southern VA close to the NC state line. His response was that they were the only teams they could get coverage on.

The Cowboys were born out of an obvious opportunity to make a boatload of money in the most football-crazy place on the planet. The Hunt Brothers had already started up the Texans and the NFL desperately wanted to snatch up the DFW metroplex fanbase. The Cowboys & Texans then went on fullscale marketing battles with the Cowboys ultimately winning out due to strength of NFL brand vs. Texans' AFL. That is what forced the Hunts to move the franchise to KC and rebrand as the Chiefs.

My dad was a big Dallas Texans fan and for years many in the metroplex despised the Cowboys franchise for forcing the Texans out. Everyone has long since forgotten that page in history these days in Big D. Primarily because of a Christian Texas Ex who was brought in as head coach to start the Cowboys that it was impossible for any Texan not to like.
