No "12" in the negative space? I guess the "G" could double as a "6"
And the division names:
Legends Division: Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern
Leaders Division: Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Wisconsin
Legends and Leaders? That is just hilariously bad. I know they couldn't do directional names but that's just stupid.

I thought that the divisions were some kind of joke or something on ESPN when I saw it. They are just stupid. They should have used the great lakes or just being in the north for the division names. They are horrible.

Of all the changes - they couldn't come up with a new conference name? Sheesh.

They should be the Schembechler and Hayes divisions.

I had been thinking about this as well, but couldn't think of any good ideas though. I mean the Big 10 name does have the tradition.

Mike Wilbon just said the exact same thing on "Pardon the Interruption"!

Sounds like the team names for a show like Pro's Vs Joe's. To think they actually spent money on market research with a marketing company too....well, I would have thought they did, maybe not.
PTI said how about naming the divisions after legendary coach's last name....I see much more logic in that.

I don't think any of the other teams would be happy with those coaches from those teams being the names for the divisions. Just use directions, it's not like directions matter in college athletics anyways.
TCU in the Big East
US(outh)F in the central Florida area
Nor do they matter in Pro Sports. (Hornets in the Western Conference, for example, or the Colts in the AFC South)

Exactly.
Just name the one with Nebraska in it the "West" and be done with it.

How about something like MidWest and North since that's relatively applicable to all of them except for a couple outliers.
Seeing the secondary logo actually helps the main logo make sense.
So that's not really as lame as I once originally thought. It makes for a nice little abbreviation I guess. Still, I've got to wonder why they didn't alter the last one to eliminate the secret 11.

Conference USA originally started with the red, white & blue divisions. Anything would be better than the lamest division names in sports history.
