I'm sure that name means nothing to the vast majority of folks on this board. But for us Old Hags just the mention of Dandy Don's name puts a smile on our faces. His banter with Howard Cosell turned Monday Night football from just an extra night of network sports coverage into a cultural phenomenon that ABC/ESPN has never been able to replicate since.

Here in Texas he remains one of the best loved sports icons ... especially up in Dallas. I have a feeling Bob Sturm's radio show in Big D just shifted gears in a dramatic way to remember Don.

Turn out the lights. The party's over.
They say that all good things must end.
Call it tonight. The party's over.
And tomorrow starts the same old thing again.

I tried to find a YouTube clip that showed him singing it without any good results. Dandy Don's horrible singing was the most anticipated part of the game for me as a kid.
