Does anybody know if Miami will pick up a big name for the new coach?

I was thinking Paterson from TCU but since they will be in a BCS conference soon I don't see anyway that would happen.

Gary would be a terrible fit in Miami of all places. I doubt here ever leaves Texas where he has his recruiting structure in place and where his personality/style/Texan drawl won't command ridicule. But he can coach like nobody's business.

The ESPN ticker mentioned they were interested in Gruden, but I think he's just a guy who get mentioned for every open job.

If Miami wants to be what they used to be, they'd hire Leach tomorrow. I'm still not sure why nobody has hired him yet. Oh no! he made some spoiled lazy kid sit in a shed for a while!

I think it was time to for Randy to be fired. BUT, if I hear anything else out of the Presidents mouth about how the football team needs to get their act together I'm writing them off (I'm a fan....nothing like Hurricane Fan though...he's intense). They had something like the 2nd highest graduation rate in the country? Wow, they may have been one of the most undisciplined teams on the field (holy penalty's) but he turned that ship around off the field (not to be confused with a pirate ship).

Speaking of which I'd love to hear his take on it. I know he's really thrilled with Randy leaving....he didnt care for him to much.

PS....if Leach gets hired (he should) this is the new look, I feel like it embrace's both, The U and Leach's past...

I saw on the ESPN Ticker that there's a 0% chance Gruden will coach the Hurricanes. That probably means he will be named head coach tomorrow. lol

Not only done, but after losing to Baylor, rumor has it that Mack Brown is going to transition his team to FCS and compete in the Southland.

Welcome aboard, TXFLame!

I think the Southland's standards may be too high for Texas.

This is my problem with College Athletics. Why did they need to fire Shannon? I thought that he was just starting to get some traction back. Oh well, I guess if you don;t win a National Championship your 3rd year you are a disappointment.

Not having his QB didn't help either.
