So is this guy really the next Karl Malone? It is being tossed around by people who follow the league a lot.The guy has been extremely impressive so far, averaging 19 and 11 per game while shooting 51% and getting tot he FT line eight times a game. Already has nine double-doubles and is an very apt passer. Also has five games of four or more assists as a PF - good/great passing, one of the skills that always separated Malone from the other top PFs in the game.

I think Charles Barkley is a more suitable comparison. To see him go after a rebound sparks images of the Round-Mound.

Barkley isn't the same type of athlete though. I think the Malone comparison's are there due to the size, quickness, and athleticism. Malone was like a horse and so is Griffin, a description that isn't typical of Barkley. The scary thing right now though is that Blake Griffin is miles ahead of Malone during their respective rookie years. And to think either him or John Wall WON'T be getting Rookie of the Year is staggering.
