...and then to be able to send Oswalt out to clean up after him? Nasty. I hate to say it but I don't think anyone is getting past the Phillies.

The Rays know how to beat him. We did quite a few times when he was in TOR. The issue is we won't get a chance to, since we've decided the playoffs are a good time to start playing like the Devil Rays.

Devil Ray Green & Purple > Ray Blue Plaid.

By the way, there's a guy here who sells plaid TB shirts. Want me to get you one?

Do they have one in fat man sizes? If so, that'd be kinda cool. I dunno. Depends what it looks like.

I personally like the plaid.

Unbelievable. I mean that in the "genuine shock / respect" way. Ladies and gentlemen, the best pitcher in baseball.

Have you been to South St. Pete?

It would be like the Dodgers playing in Compton.

Yeah, starting Rocco Baldelli game one was proof that we wanted to try and win the WS "Devil Rays" style.

Can't wait 'til I get to use the clappy hands when "The Kings" are eliminated from the NBA playoffs.

I wonder if the Franchise would be any better off in Orlando. I'm inclined to believe people from Tampa would be more likely to drive to Disney to watch a game than to South St. Pete.

are you surprised? I mean I didn't expect them to be down 2-0, but I knew they would lose 1 and probably the series. Their game is great for a long regular season, but doesn't set them up well in the post season. Aside from Price (who bombed yesterday) their starting pitching has been inconsistent (not good for the post season), their bats have been terrible...and now that they have decided not to be patient its biting them in the butt...

Honestly though they lost all respect from me when the players starting calling out the fans for not going to the games.

A. The economy sucks down here
B. They owner has continued to say they are going to cut the payroll next year, so if they aren't going to put money into the team why should fans?
C. Its a terrible place for a baseball stadium. I have gone to a couple games this year and just can't believe they were able to convince MLB that that location was good for the future...

plus they love yankees down here too much...

ok there is my Rays rant...I guess living down here I just hear about it so often its hard not to form strong opinions

You should sell out the stadium any game you could clench the AL East. Don't care how crappy the the stadium or economy is.

I agree...but I have no sympathy for this organization. I am not a Rays fan, just someone who has been down here a year. Its cool having a local team do well...but when you have players, coaches, owners constantly talking about the attendance and constantly talking about cutting payroll I can see why people around here have a hard time putting their money towards this team...

With that said there has been so much said about the Rays attendance, but the Reds haven't done much better, I think their average attendance is 1500 more or so. The reason why the Rays attendance has become a national story is because the team won't shut up about it...
