On the same day the Montana letter is leaked, no less. Our schools may be a little behind but I'm sure both admins are working on getting their ducks in a row.

We're not behind. We were the first one to make our intentions known. We didn't need a feasibility study ... our Founder/Chancellor simply stated it as our goals and made it public. Nothing has changed other than the fact that we have positioned ourselves nicely for the move by expanding football stadium/budget and adding necessary sports to reach requirements of FBS.

I haven't looked at the rules lately, but could definitely see a FBS conference extending a bid to us and help us make that transition like some of the schools have done in past years.

If schools want to be in the mix for the next round of realignment, they need to make sure the power brokers know they are ready to play. I would expect more of the FBS-ready FCS programs to conduct similar feasibility studies.

Have we conducted a study or do we just not care whether it's feasible or not?

With no standing offer from an FBS conference, there is nothing else they can do but sit back and assess the situation as it develops. That should sound familiar to anyone who wears red on Saturdays in the fall in Lynchburg.
We're all just waiting to see what shakes out in realignment this summer once the Big East gets the ball rolling.

in 10 years i can see use building our stadium more and eventually moving to FBS but it'll be so expensive to get in a crappy conference and lose a bunch of games the first couple years but be worth it in the end once you get better recruiting and such
