Negative: I got stuck working the night audit because my co-worker was sick.
Positive: Bobby Bowden was in the lobby at 4:15am and I got a pat on the back I wouldn't have otherwise gotten!

I met Bobby a few weeks ago when he was doing the book tour thing. It was 8 in the morning and he was tired. I got my picture with him and you can tell he couldn't have cared less... I didn't even post it to Facebook, I was so embarrassed.

That sucks. I got my pat on the back because I got him coffee. Sort of like a pat that a master would give slave. But hey, I'm used to it now, it's just part of this business, happens all the time. It was still pretty cool though. I was actually surprised that he's not much taller than me (I'm 5'8"). Probably because the tv and his girth used to make him look, well, bigger. He's lost a ton of weight now though.
Maybe when (hopefully never) Rocco leaves we can convince Bobby to coach here. I remember Dr. Falwell was kinda "covertly"/obviously putting the feelers out there a few years back when Karcher was busy losing games. Not that it'll ever happen, but wouldn't that be a sight. I think Bowden swears too much though for LU's liking, but I know I could get over it.

So did he speak at TRBC or something? Sorry I've been out of the loop with all the travels

So, hypothetically, Rocco leaves in five years and they bring in an 85 year old to replace him? I don't understand the logic there.

Bowden or Holtz? So many options...so little time (literally).

Wildfire weekend at TRBC. He spoke Friday night & was fantastic. Got an autographed copy of his new book. I could listen to him for hours.....great story-teller.

No, I'm not saying he will coach here. I'm just saying while Karcher was here, Dr. Falwell was gauging his interest in coaching here at some point. He spoke in convo several years ago when Bowden was originally starting to come under fire at FSU.

Dr. Lou was much closer to being our coach than Bobby B....but you are correct Winter on what you said.
I wonder if we hired them now would we have them sign a lifetime contract....aka 5 year deal

I would burn my diploma if we hired Lou Holtz.

I'm with you on this one TTL (not literally I still might need my diploma, but figuratively I'm with you).
If you want to hear someone with unrealistic expectations, talk to Lou about ND any given week.

I agree, the diploma might be useful.
I'll burn my Brock Smith jersey. That'll be my compromise.
