MWC is adding Fresno St and Nevada.
Not sure if this will affect BYU's move or not as this leaves the WAC with only 6 schools.
WAC may need to add some FCS teams to survive.

There's the link for Nevada/Fresno joining the MWC. I thought this mess was over last month. Turns out the ground beneath the BCS conferences continues to shake, ratlle and roll.

I've heard Montana come up from a couple of places.

Montana has to add several sports to be ready to move up. Texas State & UTSA are likely additions to the WAC if the conference can convince La Tech to stick around so they can maintain their core of 6 schools for postseason eligibility.
This is far from over. The next week could have some more fallout.
I just wish the NCAA moratorium would get lifted already. It is a long time until next summer before we are eligible to start moving up should the opportunity arise.

Montana also probably couldn't go unless Montana State goes with them. Not sure the state legislature will let UM go alone.

This would be bad news for our chances of moving up soon IMHO ...

You knew, of course, that when its neighbor Utah deserted for the Pac-10, that things were destined not to be taken well at BYU.
Leaving for greener pastures, after all, is an old BYU Cougars' trick, not the Utes'. BYU dissatisfaction is what started the Mountain West Conference in the first place.

I read this in the Orlando Sentinel and just thought that too many things would have to fall into place to make this work...just my opinion

If it were to happen, the C-USA would want to close ranks and that would kill a number of different scenarios for us. Then we would be totally dependent on a new regional FBS league.
