Glen Coffee retires at 23

He played one season at San Francisco and calls it quits. His reason?
"It was a struggle for a long time. Actually when I look back I feel I never should have entered the draft in the first place. Football was no longer my dream. I found Christ in college. It changed my views on everything. But I still was a football player because it was expected of me, it was something I did all my life. I was basically wasting the (49ers') time."

I'm sure it was a tough decision but it's great to see he is more worried about being obedient than filling it with something he knows he is not called to do.

This type of thing is the reason I like having my fantasy draft later in the summer. Not that I would have drafted him, but you get the idea.

I think if he were at the "heart of an NCAA investigation" we would have heard of it by now. Plus, it wouldn't make sense for him to RETURN TO ALABAMA to finish his degree if he had done something wrong.
