Hood possible candidate for Winthrop opening
by Chuck Carree

After seeing Randy Hood’s name mentioned in The Herald- Rock Hill story for the Winthrop job, naturally I had to look into the matter.

So I phoned Hood and he said he had not been formally contacted , but had interest in the job.

Then I emailed Aaron Fitt, the College Baseball Writer for Baseball America.

He told me the Eagles had targeted Chad Holbrook and Scott Forbes, assistants at South Carolina and North Carolina, respectively. He thinks both will remain at their present programs.

Fitt thinks Hood has an excellent chance at getting the job.

Not to my knowledge. But college baseball in the region is a reasonably small community.

Oh, ok. I thought there were some LU ties or something since you brought his name up here.
