New Marlins ballpark to have 2 aquariums behind home

A few details of the Marlins new ballpark in Miami have previously leaked and they've seemed out of place at a baseball game. The just-announced "backstop aquariums" fall under that non-traditional category, but I think they're going to be one of baseball's cooler stadium features when the bagel-slicer looking park opens in 2012.
The two giant aquariums will be located on either side of home plate, but not directly behind it. And no worries on a Faith No More-type situation with a fish flopping around on the ground and gasping for air because the aquariums will be constructed with shatterproof glass.

The glass may not shatter but that could kill a fish. Tapping the glass hurts them. Imagine what a 80mph stray ball hitting the glass will do.

you have to assume there will be some sort of glass in front of the glass sort of thing.

Something is wrong with the artist's rendition of the stadium- There are people in the stands.
This is what a real Marlins game looks like:

Anybody see that thing last night? It's awful. The stadium itself isn't bad but the lime green? Terrible. Give the Twins credit they did Target Field right. Went there last year and it's by far one of the best.

My thing... it's not even latin. I get that Miami has changed and that's who they're trying to cater to, but it's awful. It's not even correct. I don't know any Latinos who like lime green. It's not even on Mexico's flag. That's dark green.

Let me bring you up to speed here. Mexico has nothing to do with Miami. The Latinos in South Florida are mostly from Cuba and the DR. There is also a large Haitian community as well as representive groups from every island in the carribean. I haven't been to Cuba yet, but I have spent time in Haiti, Jaimaica and the Virgin Islands, and have been living in the DR for a year now. Lime green is used here the way off-white is in the states. It's not a Latin thing, it's a caribbean thing.

I guess I haven't been in awhile. Haven't been there since 2005, stayed in Surfside.
Typically I stay in the Tampa/Orlando area. My family has a condo there.

Jbock, add this to your signature. It could come in as a handy reminder sometimes.

Haha yeah. I mean it's stupid, I wasn't thinking when I said that obviously! Of course I should have known better with my experiences to Latin culture. Olldflame was right, as such we'll leave it at that.
I admit when I'm wrong, and I was definitely wrong there.
Plus, Cubans are awesome anyway.
