If this has already been posted elsewhere, I apologize. But, I just had to ask: have any of you noticed the men's basketball coaching search going on at UNC Wilmington? It just might be the greatest show of athletic administrative ineptitude I've seen - EVER!

After reading the articles, what is the problem with UNCW from potential coaches views? Low pay or something else?

Supposedly, they're offering near $250k. From what I gather, the way the firing of the former guy was handled wasn't right, and she (the AD) is an absolute nightmare to work for. Word of those kinds of things spreads rapidly through the coaching community.

After reading that it just makes me feel better about our school...say what you want about the recent coaching carousel over the last few years with the basketball program but at least it never reached the point of UNCW. A good reminder that it could always be worse…lol

I especially loved the banter between the writer and TruthHawk who is obviously a UNCW coach or SID ... I'd wager the latter.

The crazy things is that was considered a plum job not that terribly long ago.

Looks like Buzz Peterson is taking the UNCW job...after only one year at App State. He just can't stay in one place very long.

The article also points out that former Chanticleer Anthony Breeze transferred to App State (at least partly to play for Buzz) and he had to sit out this year, and now is stuck in Boone while Buzz is now gone. Tough break for Breeze.

That is hilarious. It's like the North Carolina version of CCU.

Buzz sounds like a loser. Why would any recruits thinks he would stay for his four years of school.

If he hasnt already, he pretty much lost all credibility with recruits because like fsu said, why would any recruit want to play for him because he's probably just gonna bounce for another job in 2-3 years.

Obviously UNCW hasn't heard how great a former LU head MBB coach is, and also available.

Did anybody see who App St hired to replace Buzz? Jason Capel, who's career consists of being an App St assistant for the last 10 months. That's it. No previous coaching experience. Chosen over a guy who has coached there for the past 10 years. And played there.
