at least he apologized, unlike marcus vick. coach k. accepted his apology and said he hoped washington woul dnot get suspended.

The Katrina evacuee aspect of this is getting more than a little tired. Down here in Houston everyday its New Orleans kids committing felonies everywhere. While I feel bad for what happened to all those folks (most of whom live & work aroudn em now since New Orleans remains a ghost town), using the hurricane as an excuse for bad behavior is flat out wrong.

certainly the right thing to do. unlike marcus vick, this will probably be the last incident you will hear from deron washington.

Yeah... I thought this entire situation was handled in a classy manner. The player and coach apologized right away in the Duke Locker room, the coach immediately said it was wrong... the Univeristy put a punishment out quickly and the player apologized publically while saying 'I accept the punishment'. All of it was handled well (IMO).

As a VT fan, I'm just so glad I never wasted money on a Marcus Vick jersey. All throughout the season I had a bad vibe about him. Quite a contrast to Bryan Randall. Curious to see what happens March 13 when he faces his remaining charges.
