Syracuse gets Vermont... good drama.
Gonzaga/FSU as an 8/9. Good game.
Butler/UTEP is the 5/12
Vanderbilt faces Murray State as the 4/13 (BJ got some face time with the trophies.)
This is a good bracket.

kansas got screwed. they got the second best #2 and arguably the best #3, #4, and #5. what kind of reward is that for the supposed top seed overall? heck, 2-10 you really can't make an argument for any region being tougher than the midwest, it's not even close.
kentucky, the second #1 seed, gets a west virginia team that could have just as easily been a #1 as syracuse was.
meanwhile, duke gets the worst #2 in villanova, a now terrible #4 in purdue, and a joke with notre dame at #6. more duke favoritism, not a surprise there.

So if Winthrop gets the play-in game, does that mean they were less than a 16th seed?

In a way, yes.
Which means we're three times worse than a less than a sixteen seed. And two times worse than a 7 seed in the NIT.

It's all about TV ratings & $$$.
So it's only logical that the selection committee provided the Blue Devils - tournament-chokers for most of the last decade - a relative cakewalk to the Final Four. Duke, the alleged third No. 1 seed, is in the bracket with the weakest No. 2 (Villanova) and No. 3 (Baylor) and No. 4 (Purdue).
Meanwhile, the Jayhawks draw No. 2 seed Ohio State, the team many believe deserved a No. 1, and No. 3 Georgetown and No. 4 Maryland. Every expert I heard Sunday stated the obvious: Kansas is in the toughest bracket in the tournament, and Duke is in the easiest.

To me that is the real joke. They were a 4 seed in November. They should be a 12. They're so bad right now.

Shows you just how good Hummel is. It's a shame for him to go out with an injury.

Purdue was at least a 3 before Hummel's injury. Probably a 2. I agree that a 4 is too high, but you can't really discount everything they did before and knock them down as low as a 12, even if that is how they are playing now.

Texas A&M has a 12 and probably a 13 before getting to play a home game against Duke in the Sweet 16, then square off against Baylor in Houston for a trip to the Final Four.
I like that bracket!!! Hey Sly, have fun with Kentucky.
