CONWAY -- The battles for walk-on positions on Coastal Carolina's football roster are about to get a little more heated.

The athletic department has told coach David Bennett that he must reduce his roster size from 125 to 100 to comply with Title IX gender equity requirements, Bennett said. The reduction will begin when the Chanticleers report for camp this summer.

Which brings up a point ... what was our roster size this past fall?

Go to the roster and count. That's the only way any of us are going to find out.

I counted 101. Then again, math was never my thing.

That sounds close to being right. It's in the 100-105 range.

We don't have the issues with classes that Coastal does normally. We may have one or two guys but it's not a regular occurrence. I can't imagine having 10-15 guys out every day.
