NFL Playoffs

There are some awesome matchups this weekend, especially in the NFC.

Does anyone think people are going way too ga-ga over the Cowboys? It's like everyone wants to hand them the Super Bowl, but I think they're overrated. And I think people forget how good the Vikings were this year.

The game I'm torn over is Saints-Cardinals. I love watching both teams and would like to see both of them advance, so I can't decide who I want to win. I really can't even decide who I think will win.

The AFC games don't appeal to me all that much....now if the Colts end up playing the Chargers, that will be a great game.

As a cowboy fan I'm definitely not too confident on this game. I've seen too many late season flops recently to be too sure of a win. Vikings and Favre deserve to be there. If the Cowboys "D" can continue to play like they have the last few weeks they can absolutely win. Romo's been hot too, even before the winning streak started.

I'm pulling for Kurt Warner all the way unless they play the Cowboys. He's too classy to not root for. And I think the Saints have really hit a rut and will be hard pressed to get out of it against the Cards with their playoff experience.

Colts were the team to beat, may still be, but the last two games threw a wrench into their momentum. Manning's tough to bet against though.

I'd really like to see the Colts lose this round. That organization needs a slap in the face after the Week 15 mess.

No shock...less than 7 minutes in and we've already got 14 points with the Saints threatening again. This could be crazy.

Side note -- is anyone else somewhat annoyed by: 1) the constant feedback/loudspeaker voice from the SuperDome 2) the ENTIRE crew they have doing this game on FOX ?? Already about to find some radio play by play and mute the TV...

That's why I don't get paid to do this.

Well I didn't watch all the pre-game shows but I'd bet no one that *does* get paid to do this woulda bet the Cards/Saints would be like that, or that it would be 3-3 in the Colts/Ravens game with 4 min to go in the first half. Crazy.

I have to admit the early game today was was one of the most enjoyable ones in recent memory and I don't even have much interest in the Vikings. Favre left the 'Boys looking like a fool with their pants on the ground.

So... How long before the sports soap opera folks (ESPN, et al) start making comparisons between Sanchez/Jets taking on the Colts vs Namath/Jets taking on the Colts back in the day?? Sychronize watches.... GO!!

Bob Costas Mentioned it on NBC almost as soon as the Bengals lost.

The Jets-Colts match-up is a good chance to revisit the league's history. Pile it on!

Once again Favre is denied as he throws an INT in overtime and the Saints are going to the Super Bowl

INT came in the 4th.

Rooting for the Saints in 2 weeks.

that was 4 quarters of seriously entertaining football, followed by a few minutes of referee abomination.

Should be a great game, but the Colts will win. Their offense is unstoppable and their defense is built specifically to stop the Saints style of play. It's just a bad match up, and it's a shame because the Colts could easily be undefeated right now if they wanted to be. It would have made this game much more intriguing.

By the way, most likely the last play of Favre's career was an INT when it could have easily been the game clincher. That'll make it hard to hang em up.

Ive been calling this for weeks....now ESPN has it up officially as a rumor. Favre retires and Vikes trade for McNabb. ( childress being the former offensive coordinator for Philly) I don't think Favres body will hold up another season, even if he wants to come back.

Which makes Mike Vick the #1 man in Philly! I like this situation....

Kevin Kolb called, you took his job from him hypothetically and he wants it back.

Kolb put up huge numbers filling in for McNabb when he was injured earlier this year. If Philly trades McNabb, he will be the starter. The Eagles don't want to pay Vick what is in his current contract to be at best a backup/wildcat QB, so I don't think he will be there next year. Maybe St. Louis or San Fransisco where he might have a chance of starting.

...again. The exact same thing happened to end Favre's last NFC Championship game two years ago. Personally, I would take that as a sign.

Rumor is Buffalo would take a look at Vick, too.

Just to follow up on the Kolb issue. There were some rumors in Cleveland (where i'm originally from, Browns fan) that Holmgren & co would go after Kolb in a trade as the Browns QB of the future. Those rumors were quickly put to rest when some local media did interviews (Radio and TV I believe) with one or two of the beat writers in Philly and they basically said that the Browns would have more luck trading for Donovan McNabb than Kolb. Andy Reid & co are so in love with Kolb, they'd definitely listen to an offer for Donovan but never Kolb.

Of course there is some conjecture there -- but the events of the last few years certainly seem to prove that. And Kolb was lights out in his starts this year. I don't see them trading McNabb -- unless they just get a ridiculous offer... But I would expect Kolb to be starting in Philly by 2011, for sure. No chance he's traded away.

Honestly there are probably half a dozen or more places Vick could end up. Think about it. He's not so toxic anymore...he started showing some flashes at the end of the season. How many teams out there could at least bring him in and he'd compete for a starting job? 5? 6? arguably maybe 7 or 8...

Gee, who was it on here hyping Kolb a few years ago?

He has become what Matt Schaub was in Atlanta.

Don't remind me about the schaub fiasco. :banghead although its nice that we eventually got ryan.
I think they'll trade vick. he'll do well in another city as a starter. kolb will end up like schaub either get traded or start in philly and be very good.IMO
