Mora out in Seattle, Carroll in?

Seattle fires coach Mora. Seems like they didn't really want him there to begin with. The "sources" are all spouting the Pete Carroll might leave USC for the Seahawks. That would be mighty interesting to see who would replace Pete.

Unless he is getting complete control why would he do that....Southern Cal vs. Seattle....no contest. In one place your a freakin rock star in the other you will have high expectations and little talent.

At least Pete wouldn't have to deal with any more recruiting "issues".

Could it be an under-the-table NCAA punishment -- go back to the NFL or else? I mean you look at what he's got going at USC and wonder... why would he leave?

Also, just read the PJ at Georgia Tech fired his defensive coordinator & is looking to hire.........AL GROH??

USC had a down year, the Pac10 seems to be getting more competitive, and he's losing his top two RB's early to the draft (one of which, McKnight, seems to be under investigation). Sure, he'd probably be stupid to leave all that, but Seattle could offer him an early retirement, no matter how bad he does.

If Carroll leaves USC, USC is going after Mike Riley, Oregon State U coach according to ESPN.

Supposedly an LA paper reporting Seattle has offered 5 years, $35 million to Carroll.

ESPN is now reporting (during Cavs/Nuggets game) that multiple sources are claiming that Carroll is expected to replace Mora. What the heck that means I don't know...is that the Seahawks thinking he'll accept? Or confirmation that he's going?

Gotta imagine that if he makes this jump...Not only is USC about to go downhill fast, but gotta think they may have NCAA violations also coming very quickly.

My friends around the USC program are all saying that Gruden is a potential candidate as well.

At Seattle or at USC? Fischer, Del Rio and Riley are all being rumored as possible replacements if/when Carroll leaves USC.

Not so fast......
SEATTLE – A league official with direct knowledge of the coaching search says the Seattle Seahawks and Pete Carroll do not have an agreement despite widespread reports.
AP source: Carroll not yet leaving USC for Seattle

That rumor was shot down, its a done deal to be announced Monday. Can not wait for a winning team again. We've been the kings of the nfc west for like 6 or 7 years in a row, these last two years have sucked

Word is Gruden's ESPN contract is pretty tight. He has very little wiggle-room in getting out.

Your assuming that a guy with a career 33-31 NFL record is going to bring you a winning team? I love PC, think he's a great coach, and wish him luck...But he certainly had mixed results in New England and not a great showing the the Jets either.

You know, that's weird, because I was thinking the same thing last night. It just seemed like it would be a situation Gruden would be interested in.

USC has offered the job to Jack Del Rio. The head coach at USC is still a better gig than the Jaguars.

Either way Jack may end up in LA. The jaguars may move to LA because of low crowd attendance in Jax.
