I'm sure for some spun reason or another that doesn't matter.

They must miss him. Winthrop is struggling against D2 Limestone; up only 37-35.

Where's Realist at?? WU only had 23 pts at halftime- I thought WU was a different team from last year.. offensive seems to still be anemic at best..
Limestone outrebounded Eagles 25-16 in first half..

Winthrop wins it 57-55 as Limestone wilts under some good WU defensive pressure in the last few minutes.

Eagles dodge the bullet, score a layup with 0.06 left to win 57-55 over Limestone who blew the game in not handling the press the final 2 minutes..

The thread title is your answer. Corbin must be the difference between a conference championship and eeking it out against a D3.

No spin here...ugly game. Time will tell if it is a sign of things to come this year or just simply a really bad night. I think this game was my fault since in my preview of Winthrop I said something along the lines of 'they can't possibly shoot any worse than they did last year, can they?'. Maybe they took that as a challenge because they only made one jump-shot all night. I'm hoping it was just a very bad night (I don't think this team will become a great shooting team by any means), but we'll see.

We're not talking about you

In fairness, Limestone is D2, not D3, and plays in maybe the best D2 conference around with teams like Barton, Coker and Belmont Abby. Still would have been an embarrasing loss though.

I have no comment on the game b/c I wasn't there nor could I watch it. Obviously wasn't pretty. But that pretty much sums up LU and UNCA's programs in their entire existence. So you guys let me know when you are relevant.
One day may God grant you a team that is decent.

WU played well in every aspect of the game except shooting the three ball. They win by 10-15 just making a few. Whether they ever make any I don't know, but I imagine they will shoot better than 1-27 through 2 games. If they do, they'll win a lot games in conference and may win the title.
As for the CCU comparison, CCU played on their home floor with CofC's best post player suspended, he was back for tonight's game. I wouldn't exactly make a comparison between the two.
It may not matter how bad we shoot if the Big South is as good as UNCA and LU

We could say our game would've been a lot closer had we made our layups, or had we made threes, or had we made less turnovers, but the fact of the matter is we didn't, so we got hammered. You guys didn't make your shots and you lost. We turned the ball over and didn't make our shots and lost. Right now, you've not proven you're any better than any team in this league, especially come off of the season you had last year. You've beaten a non-Division I team at home and lost to a good mid-major team on the road. Basically, you did the exact same thing we did in our first two games.

Except that our win was clearly more impressive and our loss was arguably more competetive.

I wasn't gonna go transitive property because then you get into the fact that Limestone is a better team than Southern Virginia and all of that.
