Helmet re-designs

This was interesting.

This is a designer who thinks a few of the helmets in the NFL need to be redesigned. One of them is the Redskins, which as a fan I totally disagree with. He really loves the Bengals helmet. There are a few teams who could use a makeover, and I agree with him that the Patriots are one of them. But I don't think he's as much of a fan as he thinks, after all, he says
"A team as legendary as the New England Patriots deserves a more celebratory helmet." Uh, I wouldn't consider the Patriots to be a legendary franchise, and I'm from New England.
But what this guy does to the Redskins helmet is atrocious. And there needs to be six stars in the Patriots helmet, to represent the six states of New England.

Hate the 'Skins and TB redesign. The Patriot one looks pretty cool, however.

The Patriots helmet has an old school USFL look.

No. Just no. You can't do that to the Bucs helmets.

The Patriots helmet looks like something Evel Kinevil would wear.

He made the Bucs helmet look like something straight from the XFL.... you know..... that one league that was in existence for 3 months or so.... Bucs = bad idea
+1 on Evil Kenevil
Redskins looks pretty cool though.

I didn't really like any of the 3 proposals but I thought the New England one was the worst. As a Redskins fan, I don't see anything wrong with our helmets.

I really wouldn't change any of the helmets in the league except for these:
Patriots
Ravens
Panthers
maybe the Jags and Dolphins (but really, what else can you do?)
One of these teams needs to get in touch with whoever put together San Diego State's athletic designs and get something done.
I think the Texans are a great example of a new franchise actually coming up with an excellent and lasting design/logo.

that guy must play on A-Train's team...even then, im pretty darn sure A-Train could come up with much better designs - he after all, really IS a football fan - unlike this guy writing this blog. "Penalty: Un-necessary blandness"???? really? somebody grab a fire extinguisher... that title looks like its flaming.

yeah, the other two are at least rational and you could see someone actually proposing that, but the NE one has to be a joke, thats the most hideous helmet I have ever seen

I disagree. You pay me $7 million a year and I'll dress in whatever the heck you want me to.

a player can get paid just as much if not more elsewhere and would not have to wear that thing.

So let's say a player has one offer for the NFL and that's it. They can make money playing for the Patriots and that helmet. You're telling me that they wouldn't be "rational" if they said, "Uh, sign me up" because that helmet looks bad?
If that's the case, why does anyone play for the Bills?

if the guy has an offer from the patriots, that's not the only team he has an offer from.*
*barring any sort contract restrictions like with players drafted, for example.

man, I started reading and when he said that about the Bengals I thought "Finally! Someone who gets it!" after having read uniwatch all these years who is constantly hating on the Bengals unis. But then I unfortunately saw his designs. That was depressing. I guess this guy has something against logos on helmets.

If you were around (as in a football fan) during their glory years, you'd have more reverence for the Bills helmet. Althought I do like their throwbacks better.

I was talking more about their entire uniform than just their helmet.
