This thread could go in 'courtyard' or 'chapel'. Feel free to move it.

Penn State had a t-shirt design competition. One guy had an idea to have a white t-shirt (Penn State's football team frequently has 'white outs' in its stadium) with its navy stripe down the shirt, and 'Penn State' emblazoned across it.
Yeah, so six people complained because it looks too much like a cross. Get a life, people.

Please tell me this wasn't the winner or a finalist...

Hey Shuk, read the article. They have already sold 30,000 of the shirts.

i like how most of the students quoted are basically saying people who are against the shirt are idiots

It really shouldn't be made into this big ordeal, but someone has to proof that shirt at some point. There's no way this issue wasn't forseen. This is Penn State, not Chuck South.
The stripe design is neat in my opinion. Just wish it was drawn up a little better.

I can't beleive that design was the winner. They need to get a graphic design program started up there if that's the best one from the competition.

What's so wrong with it? Sometimes less is more (and I HATE Penn State).

Nothing is wrong with it. That's a pretty neat design and last time I checked the Cross wasn't blue lettering on whitetho shirt. I bet those people are the same people that think "christian" guitar hero is a good idea.

It's not the Christians who are complaining, it's the secularists.

It's not creative at all and can be made in all of 10 minutes by photoshop users with limited knowledge of the program.

The most creative designs sometimes look like crap (i.e. Ed Hardy and most graphic t's).

I like it. White helmet, with a single blue stripe. It's plain, it's simple, it's Penn State.

I agree. The Unis are simple, and the shirt is simple. I like the design.

I think it would be cool, except that it looks like a cross. I don't have anything against crosses, but that doesn't make much sense on a PSU shirt. It was obviously unintentional though. The stripe is a good idea. Just get rid of the "penn state"

they should've made the pennstate run vertically and take the place of the stripe, then it would be both the stripe from a distance and the words up close... then again, kind of intersting/entertaining to see people get their panties all in a bunch over the mere idea that something that's not a cross could even look remotely like one...
pretty sure jesus said something about that...
