If Rush wants to own a team and has the means, he should be allowed to own a team

Devil's advocate: What if some Saudi oil sheik wanted to buy a team? Heck, what if Kim Jong-Il wanted to buy a team?

So are you trying to equate those two with Rush Limbaugh? Good luck with that.

It was Devil's advocate. He's implying that not just anybody can buy a team. The NFL has should have a say in ownership.

I think the more interesting thing about this whole situation is, wikipedia rearing it's head once again as a source. I think that is going to be a problem in an era of media sensationalism driving the bus/bloggers not being held accountable in any way.

if the nfl doesn't want rush limbaugh to own an nfl team thats their prerogative and right to do so. its stupid for them to do so, but i have no problem with it other than that.

This is not about the NFL's prerogative. It's not about what they can and can't do. It's about what they just allowed to happen. They caved to Sharpton and Jackson and some uber-liberal players' union boss. Goodell pretty much emasculated himself through this whole thing. He basically politicized the NFL through this whole episode, and that sucks. Why didn't Goodell apply his quote about Limbaugh to Fergie, or Jennifer Lopez, or Serena Williams, all approved minority owners of the Dolphins? Instead, they all jumped the gun on two false quotes and smeared an individual whose name was supposed to be kept private anyway.

The NFL is a league of owners. Neither the leagues commissioner nor the players's union should have any say in who owns a team, only the other team owners should have that kind of input.
