FYI-I am cheering against Texas in this one. Sorry Sly...but y'all losing benefits Tech in getting to the BCS Title Game (also why we need a playoff system).

I'm for whatever doesn't get VT into the BCS Title game.

VT losing would do a much better job of that than anything else...

Yeah, but they are miles ahead of any other program in the ACC. I don't see anyone in the conference knocking them off this year.

Yeah, I saw that first hand on Saturday. I went to Lane Stadium as a neutral observer and man, it was pretty sad. Tech's Defense was just incredible.

Well since I mentioned VT and BCS title game in the same sentence, I fully expect Tech to lose to the Yellowjackets on Saturday in typical Hokie Chokie fashion (yes, I can admit it...my team tends to choke quite a bit).

did you see VT play Duke??? defense was horrible, and any VT fan will tell you. the BC game was their best performance all year. now if that defense continues to impress like saturday, then mark it down, they wont lose to anyone in the ACC. ga.tech seems to be the only team that will press the hokies. VT is the standard in the ACC and the championship should be Miami vs. VT, but that can't happen. OU/Texas???? WHO CARES!

Yes, I saw that Duke game...defense hasn't been our strong point this year unfortunately. However, it did do well against BC and against Miami.

no doubt atrain, the hokies D has come around of late and if it continues they will not lose an ACC game. a national championship maybe tougher as a two loss ACC team could trump the ACC Champ in the BCS title chase since the ACC is awful!

Trashing a perfectly good 'I am Second' thread that focuses on the greatest rivalry game in college football with ACC football chatter?
Infidels!

True. He starts pouting and then throws that up? Sly you're derailing your own thread.

...at this point, what would it be? Seems like the true football rivalries have fallen apart.
OSU/USC
USC/ND
Tex/OU
ND/Mich? (Ugh).

Give me a better rivalry. I grew up in the midst of the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry and I've covered tons of other major ones. Texas-OU is atop the heap right now. Please, I beg of you to start talking ACC football now. I could use a good laugh after the week I just endured.

Even if its debatable if its the top right now, to not mention UM-OSU on a list of college football rivalries is a travesty. And I absolutely HATE the Big 10.
I was thinking OSU-UM being the only better one than Texas-OU, but I understand Sly's argument in the dabte of which of those two is better.
Some other good ones:
USC/UCLA
UW/WSU
Oregon/Ore St
Auburn/Alabama
Florida/Georgia
USC/Clemson
Pitt/WVU
FSU/Miami
Liberty/Coastal
For Sly, I also hate the ACC. It's a J-O-K-E!!

Hook 'em horns...there are few things I enjoy seeing more than Colt McCoy to Jordan Shipley (although Tim Tebow to Riley Cooper is right up there...)

See...this is the reason you can't call Li'l Carolina "USC".....because they aren't. You can't call them "Carolina"...because they aren't. I suggest simply, "SC".
