JMU vs Richmond

I am not sure if there are those who care about this matchup but I do. I am pulling for JMU just to say that we lost to a great program in JMU. A loss by JMU might eliminate them from playoff contention and thereby eliminate any possibility of LU going to the playoffs assuming that we run the table vs the "Little South". A win by JMU would would put them back into playoff contention and would certainly help our chances too. I will pulling for JMU today at noon to win.

Anybody still watching that game?
Ive always hated this new punt formation, and thats exactly why. Richmond punter just broke his ankle after a fat blocker landed on him.
Also, is Dudzik hurt? Because Thorpe is garbage.

Yes I'm watching as well. Dudzik suffered a concussion last week and is being held out. He did just check in though.

Dudzik is in and he seemed to spark them. JMU is in the lead 17-14 after looking flat with Thorpe in there.

Thorpe fumbles on the 5 yard line as JMU was about to score for the game winning touchdown. Richmond is now trying to run the clock out.
21-17 Richmond less than a minute left

Dudzik is out for the season. Tough loss, time to get behind Thorpe and look forward to the future.

I feel bad for JMU and it looks as if LU's chances of making post season could be over

Tough loss my friend, JMU looked like they were going to pull it out there at the end. Was sure hoping they would. Good luck the rest of the way.

Absolutely true.
The p-word shouldn't be uttered around here until next August.

There are ways for us to still make it... but it will be really tough. I would give it a 5% chance... especially if Laffy goes on to lose today...

Very unlikely. We need a win vs a ranked team. No one left on the schedule would give us that and I don't think that the win vs Layfayette would qualify as a signiture win. Just the way it is right now.

If Lafayette keeps winning they will be ranked. However, it doesn't look like they're going to help us with that today...
And it's not impossible, it's just highly unlikely. We will need a lot of teams to lose their way out of the playoffs. We don't have a strong resume, but we will have a chance if teams start losing their way out.

Sure it will be VERY difficult to make it, but it's not outside the realm of possibility. We knew that when we lost to JMU. Nothing changed today.

Well Layfayette did pull out a win vs Columbia with a last second TD to win 24-21. If that means anything to any of you.

It means we have a chance at having a top 25 team on our schedule...

I think this is more important. Im still sold were out, but it would help.

Any of our opponents winning helps.
I think JMU doesn't even need to make the playoffs. A 6-5 JMU team that knocks UD or UMass or WandM out of the playoffs would be a HUGE plus for us. JMU still looks respectable, and they help eliminate someone.

I really dont think so. A loss to a team outside of the playoffs keeps us out.

I think that's a really simple way of looking at it for someone who took way too much time coming up with your big list... Haha. Seriously tho, I honestly don't think it eliminates us. What if we ONLY lost to Laffy last year, would we have been out? I don't think so. Losing to JMU IS NOT losing to Presby.

Last year, the 16th team had no business being in the playoffs. Some have also said we may not have made it even without the Presby loss. I dont agree with that, but its an answer.
With that said, this year is completly different than last. There are a possible 6 CAA teams with legit resumes. The Big Sky could send 2. The MVC could send 3. McNeese St and Stephen F. Austin are probably making it as well. Theres alot to choose from right now. Will it be that way come November? hopefully not. Point is we do need alot of help, and JMU finishing 6-5 doesnt help

You're really not taking everything into account. Go back to your list.
The CAA will really struggle to get 6 in, since they all have to PLAY EACH OTHER. The MVC will get 3, but SIU isn't a "lock" and can still be knocked out. McNeese will not make it, They have 2 or 3 loseable games and I don't think they have what it takes to win all of them... they lost a low scoring game to SFA today... SFA doesn't win low scoring games...
The CAA is
Locks
---
Richmond
UNH
Nova
Virtual Locks
---
W and M
Maybes
---
UD
UMass
JMU
Need a Miracle
---
Maine
Hofstra
UMass hasn't proven anything yet, and I'm pretty sure they're going to fade away, they did terribly today... and so then JMU @ UD becomes a play in game... so there's your 5 for the CAA.

Agreed with Lefty. It's better for our chances at this point for JMU to NOT be eligible. They could then begin to knock some of the other bubble CAA teams out (Delaware, UMass). There's an outside chance that only 4 CAA teams will be eligible (Richmond, Nova, WM, UNH). If that was to happen, there would be a better chance for us to make the playoffs than if JMU made it since it would leave an extra spot available to us.
