I thought those of you interested in saving a little money to watch the Basketball Cats would be like to know about this change on DISH Network. DISH Network will be moving ESPN U from their Gold Package to their more affordable Bronze package. Six UK basketball games are slated to be on ESPN U this upcoming season.

ESPN U has been in the more expensive Gold package, which is regularly $67.99 a month with locals (and $47.99 the first 12 months for new customers). This change will make it even more affordable for CAT fans to catch the CATS on all the ESPN Channels, including ESPNU, in the Bronze 100 Package which is regularly just $39.99 a month with locals and is $19.99 a month for the first 12 months for new customers.

The channel number will change from channel 148 to channel 141 effective Wednesday September 30th.

I work for DISH Network corporate, so my source was an internal email from our programming department. Check your channel guide tomorrow if you want to confirm.

Go Cats!
From a UK message board - I checked when I got home and sure enough it's on the cheaper packages now.

I think that's the package I have (100 channels plus locals). Great news!

Exactly, and it generally costs a truckload more unless you get some sweet deal, but then it's Comcast, so the sweetness of the deal gets negated quite a bit.

And ESPNU has been on dish for a while now, you just had to have a certain package to get it...

I noticed that I had it now but I figured it was just a free preview for a month. Like last month we had DIY and a few others.
