He is forgoing his senior year according to ESPN.com and will be joining the Blue Devils to play Guard for them.

He is a pretty good player, I played against him in high school. I personally think he is overhyped, but it may just be my biased towards Atlantic Shores (his HS) that im going off of haha...

He came from one of the best basketball programs in Tidewater. Atlantic Shores was hanging with some of the public school programs in Tidewater and consistently has been in the top 5 in the area

I went to Atlantic Shores in the 90's. IMO, the teams of the past few years had nothing on the class of '96, when I was a junior. We went 6'9", 6'8", 6'7", 6'4", 5'11". The big guys, Kenny Inge and Damon Thornton, went on to start at NC State as freshmen. Our pep rallies consisted of 8-competitor dunk contests. In a student-faculty game, Damon broke the backboard while dunking on a Bible teacher.

of course yall had the down years as well from around '00 to '04 when PCS basketball was actually really good. still dont like Shores though, they got a lot of bad publicity from most of my coaches haha. (the whole they recruit when they aren't allowed to, and all that). i will gladly watch andre on t.v. and point to him and say i played against him and nearly beat him in the conference semi-finals my senior year. its what i do with petrikonus from clemson haha, he played for norfolk collegiate the year we went to state

I think it just shows that K is really having to change things up for his program to get back on top. Roy has been outworking K since he came back to Carolina.

I know the Elliot Williams situation left dook short, but I don't think they would have gotten Dawkins in early if Williams was still there.

Also, add to the fact that many dook fans were blasting Bill Self for offering sophomore JP Tokoto, citing the NABC gentleman's agreement that a school "will not offer any player from the class of 2012 until June 15 of next summer, per the guidelines set up by the college coaches"....just to do an about face on Tuesday morning when K offered the kid. And Roy stated he liked the kid, but would not offer until after next summer.

I don't think it has anything to do with Roy "outworking" K. Coach K's recruiting style has got him in trouble. Ever since being burned by Livingston and to a lesser extent in Deng, K won't go after a guy that is thought of to be a one and done.

Duke has brought in very good classes but even in my Duke-blue colored glasses won't cover up the coaching issues. Until Duke can consistantly develop big men, the top guys are going to stay away from Duke and rightfully so.

I used the "outworking" line simply because many coaches & sportswriters have stated that no one works as hard recruiting like Roy does.

K is changing his philosophy of "one-and-done" as he offered Wall.

I agree, the lack of big man development keeps biting dook in the butt every year.

PCS has always been a thorn in the side of my school. I think its safe to say that the only other school that it could be said we didnt like was DBCS. I think its pretty safe to say though that PCS is our biggest rival.

Haha no I went to Stonebridge...Alliance is kinda like SB's VMI, PCS is kinda like Radford (minus the raging STDs) and DBCS is kinda like Coastal

ah ok, stonebridge was really really good my senior year. i believe we split with them, and had a plan to take them if we played them in the championship.

but yea, things you learn in the course of a day

Yeah...small world. Anyway SB had a tough year last year after losing two very good players. The girls team has been rolling over conference foes like LU does over the Big South. SB was really bad in both girls and guys basketball when I was younger but they started getting good my junior year and they just went into overdrive here in the last couple seasons

I will agree with you that Duke has a bit of a problem with the lack of big men. Zoubeck can never seem to be healthy enough, and if he is, he gets hurt again....and Coach K can't seem to get a big man on campus. However, if Duke can sharpen up its 3-point shooting that may compensate for the lack of big men..Remember what happened in the 2000-01 season? Boozer got injured and they had to rework the line-up and rely more on their 3. Hey- it worked...And I will leave you with what my friend's husband said: "Duke has the better Coach. UNC has the better recruiter."

Haha....wow...what does that say about that "better Coach" when that "better Recruiter" has 2 national titles & a 7-3 head-to-head record since that "better Coach" last made the Final Four?
