Samkon Gado saw action at fullback with the starters. Frequent observers at practice report that Gado has impressed, and the coaches could be trying to stretch Gado’s versatility to make him more valuable: sort of like Brian Leonard was supposed to be.

There are going to be chances for Sam there in St. Louis. Jackson missed four games last year and four the year before.

[quote]There still is much to learn about St. Louis Rams rookie head coach Steve Spagnuolo. Here are a few things we’ve gleaned so far, regarding his interviews:
1. They’re short.
2. He’s already pretty adept at tap-dancing around tough questions.
3. He’s cautious about heaping praise on his players.
Considering No. 3, it was a bit of a surprise, then, when asked to evaluate running back/fullback Samkon Gado, who is fighting for a roster spot, Spagnuolo replied:

That's a burst I didn't see from him here in Houston. Perhaps he has finally found a home in the same state where his NFL career began.

that was friggin' suh-weet. The missed tackle didn't hurt, but he looked like he came off the block and hit the hole well.
Looks lean and mean.

Pray for Sam - he was doing well in both rushing and receiving when he got injured. That's all NFL.com said, I don't know the extent of the injury, does anybody out there know?

Several wounded players returned to practice Monday. Among them was running back Samkon Gado, who suffered cartilage damage to his ribs Thursday night vs. Kansas City. Also back on the field were guard Richie Incognito (knee), fullback Mike Karney (ankle) and defensive end Leonard Little (knee).
