This is a joke - Let the guy play. He has been sitting out for 2 years. If I was him I would still go play for UFL.

I'm glad this is over. I think he deserves a shot but don't see him ever lining up at QB again...I think people forget he wasn't that good of a QB before sitting out two years. His future is at WR, if anything, I believe.

Vick was never a model citizen, but I believe he got a bad deal from day one. Let him play right away. I wish he had not lied to the Falcons' owner. Hey, his brother pulled a gun on someone in a parking lot and I don't think he was corrected in any measure relative to Michael. Am I off base?

He'll be a quarterback. He was not the best passer in the league, but he was an NFL starter. He is not fast enough to be a WR. His speed was overrated because of the runs that we saw him make, but without the defense having to respect his ability to throw the ball, he's worthless.

I completly disagree. He does not have to be a QB at all, he could be a slot #3 WR and run a few gimmick plays behind center for a change of pace. To say Vick vs. a teams nickel package DB is worthless shows you either don't like the guy or are just trying to get a reaction because i know you aren't that dumb. If he gets on the right team and they complement him with the correct scheme to showcase his abilities it could work out very well for him. NO one can tell me in the open field on a slant route he isn't fast enough to run away from people, especially now that he is probably a few pounds lighter im sure.

He was tailor-made for the Wildcat offense. However, Miami isn't going to sign him with Parcells at the helm and with Pat White scheduled to fill that role for them. Minnesota makes perfect sense but probably won't happen.

Don't forget the Dawg Pound - that would be a good fit:)

Vick is an exciting player - I would take him on my team.

Afterall - there have been some pretty bad decisions made my NFL'ers that are still playing -

Rae Carruth- conspiracy to commit murder
Ray Lewis- shady during murder investigation
Pacman Jones- being dumb in strip clubs
Chris Henry- traffic violations/being stupid
Tank Johnson- guns
Plaxico Burress- guns
Marshawn Lynch- guns
Donte Stallworth- DUI/homicide
Reggie Williams- drugs
Matt Jones- drugs

Leonard Little - Do I need to even say anything here? Manslaughter DWI and then gets caught with another DWI 6 years later... Missed a total of 6 games.

I dont think Carruth has played in the league in a VERY long time and he will never play again (he's not due out of the pokey til 2018 apparently)

I don't watch the NFL and could care less if he plays. If he does and blows out a knee no tears from me.

Don't forget Jamal Lewis, he got caught trying to deal cocaine and was thrown in jail for four months. He was suspended for four games.

However, I do think that Roger Goodell has kept a tighter leash (ha ha) on players than Tagliabue, though. Pacman Jones was suspended for a year; Tank Johnson was suspended for more than half the season, Donte Stallworth has been suspended indefinitely, and such.

I was on the "make him something other than QB" side of the fence for a long time while he was with the falcons because he wasn't all that great of a passer. But I've changed my mind. He's fast. The only known 40 time was at a rookie mini-camp which I doubt was very accurate and that was a 4.36. (he didn't run at the combine). And that was in 2001, 8 years ago. So he's fast, but he's not the fastest guy in the league like everybody thinks he is. He's also not built to take the abuse that a running back does on a regular basis. His entire threat is that a defense has to respect his ability to pass and his ability to throw. That seriously handicaps a defenses ability to cover. Somebody suddenly has to be responsible for a player you used to be able to somewhat ignore one way or the other. If he's a slot receiver he's suddenly a mediocre player and you cover him just like you cover any other quick footed receiver. Does anybody even know if he can catch? If he's a running back he'll be on the IR within 4 games.

pulling a gun and not actually harming anyone is a lot different than running a dog fighting kennel...

Marcus Vick had a couple DUI's in there, and was actually sentenced to 12 months in jail (the judge suspended the sentence, though).

Keep in mind that with Michael Vick, it wasn't the dogfighting insamuch as it was his involvement as the head of an interstate gambling ring. That brings the feds into the fold. The minimum sentence, as per federal guidelines, was 12 to 18 months. Vick wasn't exactly cooperative, so the judge upped the sentence.

If anything, we shouldn't be complaining about how strict Vick's punishment was. We should be complaining about the leniency of other punishments.

I've been seeing some buzz about how Vick may be pursued by the Patriots, Vikings, Bears, Jaguars, Redskins, and the Ravens have expressed interest. I'm wondering if the Vikings are going to panic and try to sign him in the wake of the Favre revelation. I mean, if you pair him with Adrian Peterson... opposing teams will have to hire an olympic sprinter as a cornerback.

Whoever picks him up going going to get slammed by the sports media... except the Patriots. If they land him it's just more evidence of their genius.

Are the Vikings going after Vick?

What does Vic play backup there? Vick and TO on offense is an interesting thought though...Lynch ( RB) is also suspended 3 or 4 games as well i believe.
