LeBron gets dunked on during his camp, but Nike takes tapes

Xavier's Jordan Crawford apparently threw down a ridiculous two-handed dunk on LeBron James during James' summer basketball camp. It's the kind of dunk you'd see get a gazillion views on YouTube, except for one problem.
LeBron's Nike handlers confiscated all tapes of the dunk.
It's not that people aren't allowed to tape what goes on at LeBron's camp, but when he got dunked on, Nike's guys swooped in and confiscated all tapes of the dunk.
Here are more details so you know I'm not messing with you:
Freelance photographer Ryan Miller was one of the cameramen shooting the game.
He told CBSSports.com that Nike Basketball Senior Director Lynn Merritt took his tape.
"He just said, 'We have to take your tape,'" Miller said. "They took it from other guys, too."
Worth noting is that there is no policy against filming at the LeBron James Skills Academy, and Miller said he had been filming all day without incident. Nobody ever told him to stop. Nobody ever said there was a problem ... until after Crawford dunked on James.
Man, that's almost like the guys in black suits who show up after you "see" a UFO.

I saw the video on youtube, someone must have recorded it on their phone and uploaded it directly to youtube because the quality was pretty poor, definitely not reflective of a real camera. the video has since been removed of course, but Joe Crawford's (UK '08) little brother absolutely posterized LeBron.

I would have liked to got to see it but its not that big a deal. Kevin Johnson dunked on Hakeem the Dream in the playoffs violently, does that mean Hakeem stinks, no. Someone Nike thinks that damage Lebron's image I suppose.

He got dunked on. Who cares? I don't see why everyone makes a big deal about someone getting dunked on. Yeah, it looks embarrassing, but I'd rather see my guy go up and contest the dunk and try to hinder it in some way than to stand there and watch it.

A representative with Nike, which runs the camp at the University of Akron in James' hometown, made no mention of Crawford's dunk. He said the tapes were confiscated because videotaping of after-hours pickup games at the camp is not allowed.
"Nike has been operating basketball camps for the benefit of young athletes for decades and has long-standing policies as to what events are open and closed to media coverage. Unfortunately, for the first time in four years, two journalists did not respect our no videotaping policy at an after-hours pickup game following the LeBron James Skills Academy," said Nike spokesman Derek Kent on Wednesday.
Parrish reports there is no such policy written or posted anywhere. He asked Nike representatives to show him the policy, but they were unable to do so.
After seeing what constitutes getting "dunked on" (Courtney Lee did it to James) I sure Lebron just stuck his hand in to block a shot which is retarded.

Back in the day, getting dunked on required the defender to actually be in front of the dunker when he jumps to dunk, ala Vince jumping over the guy in the Olympics. I'd like to know how that video shows Lebron getting dunked on.

I just love it because all year, ESPN made those videos about LeBron's "Chase Down" blocks, and how he's such a lock down defender, "experts" saying he was the best shot blocking swingman ever, blah blah blah, and Courtney Lee, a rookie, from WKU, dunks right in the face of an attempted "Chase Down" block.

The majority of "chase down" blocks occur when the offensive player does not go strong to the hoop and dunk. It's much easier in transition to block a layup from a player who hears footsteps than a dunk.

Lebron James spent 3/4 of his minutes at SF. The effective FG% of palyers he was defending was .482 and the PER was 13.6 (league average is 15). Let's compare him with other players who received multiple votes for NBA defensive player of the year this past season, using their stats at their primary position(s):
Dwight Howard - .489/15.8
Dwyane Wade - .487/15.4
Shane Battier (SG) - .456/12.0
Shane Battier (SF) - .471/13.9
Ron Artest - .459/12.3
Chris Paul - .471/17.2
Kobe Bryant - .503/14.1
Kevin Garnett - .465/14.9
Chris Anderson - .502/20.5 (that's really bad, actually)
Rajon Rondo - .474/16.5
Tim Duncan - .519/17.5
Raja Bell (Phoenix) - .544/18.2
Raja Bell (Charlotte) - .535/15.8
Ronny Turiaf - .507/19.3
So it's no surprise to me, based on what I have seen on TV and statistically, that Lebron was second in defensive player of the year voting and is considered an elite, lockdown defender now. When you compare him to the other vote getters, he is just as good if not better than all of them.
