BREAKING NEWS: Steve McNair shot, killed in downtown Nashville

NASHVILLE (WATE) -- According to a report posted Saturday afternoon on newschannel5.com, former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair was shot and killed in downtown Nashville.

According to the report, the incident happened at 2nd South & Lea Ave. Police said it looked like a double homicide. A female victim was also found dead.

PFT originally reported it as "an apparent murder-suicide". Not sure who was doing which one though.

News 2 has confirmed the former Titans star was found shot to death at an apartment complex in north Nashville.

A second person was also found dead.

That person's identity was not immediately known.

GoTitans.com had a poster indicate Steve pulled the trigger in both instances. Strictly hearsay to the Nth degree.

But allegedly WSMV is saying it was the woman who fired the gun at both Steve and herself.

WOW....so sad. If instance one were true, why would he kill himslef and her? If instance two were true, why would she kill him and her? That is so sad. I am hoping his (and her) family and friends will be ok through this horrible time.

The big rumor was that Mrs. McNair showed up. But that appears to be just conjecture.

Nothing but a tragic, tragic story. Let's keep the speculation to a minimum until we can hear some facts.

Chick killed him then herself.

Looks that way, he had multiple gunshots, she had one and the gun was near her.
The holiday 4th of July will never be a day of happiness or rejoicing for the McNair family.
