ABC 13 Named Virginia News Operation of the Year

Richmond - It was a big weekend for the ABC 13 Newsroom. The Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters handed out their annual awards in Richmond. We're pleased to report that WSET was named Virginia's Outstanding News Operation of the Year. Judged against competitors from Richmond, Norfolk, Charlottesville and right here in the Roanoke-Lynchburg market, ABC 13 was awarded top honors in the category. WSET also won honors for the Best Weathercast in Virginia, along with meritorious recognition for Feature Photography to our own Brian Vaughan, Best Year Round Sports and Best Sports Anchor .... Dennis Carter.

I guess WSET is still buying their awards. Most stations have quit underwriting these deals. The ones still payinh for entries typically land most of the hardware.
