FCA names McKay 2009 'Barnabas' award winner
April 4, 2009
Ritchie McKay, a college basketball coach who is passionate not only about winning games but also about teaching his athletes lessons with biblical principles, was presented the 2009 John Lotz "Barnabas" Award by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes on April 4 during the FCA Coaches Luncheon at the NCAA Men's Final Four in Detroit.
McKay has led five university basketball programs during his coaching career and, in the process, has mentored countless young men from a Christian perspective. His impact has gone beyond the basketball court and into the lives of student-athletes who have strived to model McKay's lifestyle of integrity.

Thank God they didn't vote based on whether or not you were on the boat or not.

JB dropped the Barnabas award reference during Layer's press conference in the FOC last week.

I remember Dale Clayton from C-N from G-W's days in the South Atlantic Conference. He's a class act too.

If we are going to give him a Biblical award I nominate McKay for the Judas award.

My comment surprisingly had nothing to do with the song.

Congratulations. You have officially joined the "most overused and played out term" club.
Thanks for the welcome, just speaking the truth

The man won an award that is completely unrelated to anything LU. If you can't be happy for him -- which I'm well aware would be too grown-up for most of you -- at least just be apathetic.
The more you people go on about this, the more childish you look and the more I'm convinced that McKay traded up.

Thank you for the eyeroll which, incidentally, is the official emoticon of "most overused and played out" club. Also, the persistent sound of whining is the official club anthem -- just ask CMII -- and you continue to clearly demonstrate that as well.
FYI: Barabbas was -- depending on perspective -- either a murderer or a freedom fighter. I fail to see how either applies here.

Some of you guys take stuff on her way too seriously. It was an easy joke to make. I'd say the majority of what is posted on this site is meant to be humorous. You guys might enjoy yourselves more if you kept that in mind instead of looking to be offended or embarrassed

I was just sticking up for McKay a little. Even though he left Liberty, he is a good strong Christian, just trying to get people to keep it in perspective. He is a good guy get off his back
