Two first round picks, a third rounder and Kyle Orton is a steep price to pay for Cutler. I can't believe the 'Skins throw in a 3rd first rounder.

Yes! No more noodle-arm neck-beard at QB! The only problem is that Jay will be laying on his back most of the season without an offensive line or anyone to throw it to. Oh, well!

You think the Bears might address those two issues in the draft now that they have what I would think is a pretty decent (albeit overly emotional at times) quarterback?

how long has it been since the bears drafted well...

for the broncos - the picks are solid....orton....i've watched enough to know he's not going to be a star but lets face it....what has he ever had around him for you to count him out? bad wr's a bad line, up until last year a questionable run game. this should be interesting to see him compete there.

for the bears - its about time. they've slept on so many possibilities that everyone here is completely surprised. now his problem. he's got no wr's he's got no oline. its possible they'll pick up holt. earl bennett is promising. hester could turn out to be great but i ain't betting on it and neither should they. they signed pace but the only spot they shored up with that signing is the IR spot.

OK, Captain Literal, I didn't mean that Chicago literally had no draft picks. I was pointing out that they had just sent a significant portion of their first day draft picks to Denver. The NFL draft is something of a crapshoot at every round but that quality goes up dramatically when you have fewer picks and their mostly in the later rounds.

he probably checked a roster to make sure they also had wr's and offensive linemen...

So it looks Chris Simms gets another shot at being a starting QB.

Actually about the time that RTF made that comment I checked out NFL.com. WR is probably one of their biggest needs ESPECIALLY with Cutler now there. They did pick up a couple OL in free agency and Im sure there will be a few of those available on the second day too

Plaxico is available! He should fit right in with all of the guys who stayed for a year and then got put in the slammer.

By the way, the Bears don't ALWAYS draft poorly, just mostly. That Forte kid has worked out okay so far.

Cutler has tons of talent. Too bad he'll be on the IR by week 6. hee hee It won't surprise me if either Orton or Simms does well in this offense. Also wouldn't be shocked if Denver picks a QB in the draft. See ya Jay, you big freaking baby!

I'll take my chances with Kyle Orton over any colege QB currently predicted to go in the first round.

Jay Cutler has asthma correct. wouldn't it be worse in colder air, that is just one thing to think about in this trade

He has diabetes. I had never heard anything about asthma, but I would think anything that reduced your ability to breath would be much worse at altitude in Denver.

I agree RTF. The new system, plus having legit receivers will make Orton look like a big time player. You can't tell me anyone would have shined in Chicago with that offensive line and lack of receiving.

in the end orton is a just a middle of the road qb....i don't think you'll be overtly impressed.

Orton has a noodle for an arm. Just wait until Eddie Royal gets wide open on his "go" route, but is 15 yards past the LOS and therefore out of Orton's range. Let me know what you think of him then!

No one said he was a strong arm. We are just looking for stability. Don't count out Simms getting pt either. I don't think you need a rocket arm in this system. (at least I'm hoping) No one ever accused Brady or Cassell of having huge arms.

I completely agree. However, I'll take that over the complete busts that Matt Stafford and Mark Sanchez will turn out to be.

orton threw a pick every 38 attempts and cutler threw one every 35 attempts....and i think if it comes to him throwing more orton will do worse...

i dont like simms much either..

i'm actually kind of an orton fan for what he is....the guy who got screwed by lovie and sex cannon in chicago...
