Seems the new home of the Mets is already in September form, as host St. Johns gave up 4 runs in the 7th to lose to Georgetown yesterday.
NEW YORK -- Citi Field opened its shiny steel gates for a big test run, hosting a wide-eyed crowd that got its first glimpse of the New York Mets' new home.
While the Mets finish up spring training in Florida, 22,397 fans -- many with cameras in hand -- ignored the wet and chilly weather Sunday to explore the new stadium and watch Georgetown use a four-run seventh inning to beat St. John's 6-4 in a college baseball game.

Ughhhh, how awful is it that Norfolk residents have to suffer by watching Baltimore Orioles farm hands?*
I said it was a mistake when the Tides cut their ties with New York. The local radio host here cut me off when I said it, b/c he's butt boys with the Tides' GM. Now attendance is down (this is what happens when you alienate a fan base of decades) and so is winning, but hey, what do I know?
*-I will be in attendance to watch O's prospect Matt Wieters, if he starts the season in AAA.

Wieters is starting the season in AAA Norfolk. I was able to see him a few times last year at AA Bowie, MD and he is the real deal.

Sports Illustrated picked the Mets to win it all.
I am a Mets fan, and I want to say... thanks SI for ruining it for us.
