Hey guys, I'm up here at the All-Star game and I just got back from the Home Run Derby. I was wondering if anyone watched it on TV and if it was pretty exciting. Honestly to me I rather watch that then the actual game since now a days its just a "Get everyone in the game" style of game. But I just wanted to see if anyone else was watching, it was pretty cool that $294k was raised though, that's pretty cool not to mention the last swing of the night hit the sign to have a lucky fan win 500 flights.

The ballpark looked spectacular on TV tonight. Allowing fans onto the bridge to see in for free was a nice touch by the city as well.

I covered the All-Star festivites a couple of years ago when it was at Minute Maid Park. Frankly I believe the whole weekend is much better in person than it is on television. But it is extremely cool to be there in the midst of the action.

I rented the college baseball video game the other day (I have it for 5 days) and I've been playing it nonstop when I was at home. I completely forgot about the homerun derby tonight.

The first round dragged on and on and on. Ryan Howard and David Wright (from the great Commonwealth of VA, I might add) made it exciting--and MLB needs to jump on that bandwagon and start promoting the next breed of superstars. Quite of bit of under 25 talent these days.

I watched it last night. I thought that David Ortiz was going to win it easily.

PNC is a great ball park. great sight lines, and the amenities are good as well. the derby did drag a bit, and i can do without chris berman, but i agree with AG, that MLB needs to promote these youngsters more.

Sorry guys that was me that started this thread. Yeah PNC is unreal, and to me is a Top 3 park only behind Fenway and Camden...

I love Jacobs field but it is one of the older "modern parks'along with Camden Yards. I would guess that the Park in Philly Citizens Bank Park is comparable to the ones mentioned though I have not been there yet. GMTM you have been there. Impressions please.

I love the light bannisters at Jacobs Field. Having gone to the cavernous old stadium before they moved to the Jake, I guess I probably was somewhat prejudiced toward the newer park.

The two we have down here in Texas are very nice as well. You don't want to go to a game in Arlington in July or August, but in the spring and final month of the season I love going to games at Ameriquest (or The Temple as they refer to it up in DFW). And Minute Maid Park gets a bad rap from some, but I enjoy going to games at the Juicebox as much as anywhere in America.

I'm anxious to get back home to Cincy to finally check out a game there as well.

Philly is very nice.... I really don't like the fact that I saw the Sox lose in that park about a month and a half ago.....I still can't get over the fact at how many people were just giving away tickets for a sold out game!!!!

That was one of the better All-Star games I've seen (in person or TV) it was nice to see Ozzie trying to win, I hope that sticks and we start to see that year after year

yeah, I'll be up at Rhode Island today and the family said they would like to go to a game, so I pulled a few strings, but these tickets aren't as easy to get as they were a few years ago, I think Friday's game though
