My first thought as well.

The UVA Fan beside me says Bryant Stith

"The Curse of UVA Coaches Losing to Liberty" rears its ugly head. Didn't Jeff Jones get canned the year LU beat them?

Rumors say Jeff Capel and the coach from Xavier, Sean Smith I think. If I was either of them I wouldn’t go. Anthony Grant will probably get mentioned, and Bryant Stith has done a heck of a job at Brunswick High leading them to 3 consecutive state championship games.

It were a joke!
I don't think Smith or Capel touch that job.

I've got it:
Radford goes to GBO and gets drilled by 40 and Brad Greenburg's reward is the UVA job!

If Capel or Smith go there I'd be a concerned UVa fan because you are getting two guys that are clearly gigantic idiots for leaving the situations they are in to go to an inferior program.
UVa will probably just get another coach that has had the same incoming resume as the last two guys and he will most likely fail again...

He really was sucking a lot more than I thought he would but they really didn't give him enough time.

How long has he been there? 3, 4 years? Can't be anymore than that.

UVA will spend big money to get the coach they desire. will that person come?? who knows. capel a candidiate?? yes because he has said he would like to go back east at some point and coach in the ACC. tubby smith?? he came close to to the job last time around. sean miller?? why not..he is at a good mid-major and would jump to the ACC ...one of the best conferences around. no reason why UVA cannot be a wake or maryland and finish in the top half of the ACC. they used to do very well in the ACC. just two years ago they tied UNC for the regular season title. they have the facilities and the money and the the conference. i thought leitao was not given enough time, i really thought he would get one more year, but it looked like he lost the program. yes the LU curse reared it's ugly head but jeff jones was cheating on his wife with a cheerleader so that ended that. and al groh i hope you got the memo, nothing less than a new years day bowl and the pink slip will be at your door as well.

Capel isn't touching the UVa job with a 10-foot pole. He's at the point where he pick and choose the job he wants. I think he's waiting out K for the Duke job, IMO.

I don't think Tubby would be a good fit at UVa, his coaching style just doesn't fit the ACC, not unless he's able to come in and force the other conference coaches to change like Ben Howland has at UCLA - and that's not happening considering Coach K, Roy Williams, and Gary Williams are in the ACC still. where tubby is coaching now - the big 10 - is the perfect placement for him since he is defense first, second, and third and normally doesn't get the athletes that can compete on a high level on a consistent basis. that is unless he decides to start recruiting differently, which he hasn't really changed any...
Secondly, Xavier isn't a mid-major whatsoever. If Xavier is a mid-major, then Gonzaga is too, and the only thing mid-major about Gonzaga is it's conference, and the A-10 isn't even a mid major conference. Xavier has more NCAA appearances than Alabama, Boston College, Michigan, Tennessee, Stanford, UVA, Oregon State, Wisconsin, Cal, GA Tech, Southern Cal, Providence, Florida, Arizona State, Florida St., Oregon, Miss. St., Minnesota, Georgia, Colorado, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, Clemson, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Auburn, South Carolina, Wash. St., Miami (FL), Ole Miss, Nebraska, Baylor. Those teams are all from BCS conferences. Only team above them that most would consider mid major or lower is Princeton and BYU, and I don't really think many would consider BYU to be a mid major to begin with given all the success they have had.

Agreed...heck, people now consider C-USA to be mid-major after the expansion wars earlier this year even though Memphis is in C-USA.

Yes, since you asked, that was when RD beat them during his interim year, just before Hanky came on board.

The problem was Leitao didn't win with his guys, he won with Gillen's recruits. Pete couldn't coach worth anything, but he sure could recruit.
