Who you got? They're all losing. UNC is a lock. But after that? UConn? Pitt? Mich St? I can name about 10 other teams just as deserving.

UNC, Pitt, MSU, and L'ville if L'Ville and MSU win their conference tourneys.

If one of them loses, replace them with UConn.

UNC, Memphis, Louisville (if they win the Big East, if not: UConn), Wake if they win the ACC (if not, MSU).

Wake? Really? There's no way, and I'm a Wake apologist half the time.

Plus they're down 13 right now.

Neither Memphis nor Wake will be there...

It will be the 3 Big East teams and UNC

UNC (whether they win the ACC tourney or not)
Pitt
Memphis
Louisville (if they win the Big Least tourney, otherwise UConn)

If Radford gets a 15, they draw either UConn/Louisville, Michigan State, Duke or Wake, or Oklahoma. Griffin vs. Eyechart from Radford would be an interesting matchup.

I was just about to start a thread about something but this is related so I'll stick it in here.

RPI and SOS. STOP QUOTING BOTH OF THEM ESPN, IT'S REDUNDANT.

"Well, they've got an RPI of 12, but a SOS of 100 which might hurt them"

No stupid the RPI takes the SOS into account. You're just creating a false qualification.

Maybe if memphis didn't play in a kiddie league they would deserve a #1 seed.

Yeah... but think, if we let Memphis be a 1, maybe we'll get to see the 16 over a 1 upset we've been waiting for.

Question:

If Duke wins the ACC tournament, do they deserve a #1 over a third Big East school?

They will have two more losses than UConn or Pitt, but will be a tournament champion.

Of their losses, three will have been to top ten teams.

Edit: I was wrong. Four of their losses were to top ten teams (Clemson was #10 at the time of the loss).

I'm going with the consensus...UNC, Louisville, Pitt and UConn. None of the Big East teams have really done anything to hurt themselves in the tourney. If any other team sneaks in, I think it's Michigain State.

There will be 2 scenarios

If Louisville wins the BET:

UNC
Louisville
Memphis
Pitt

If they lose in the BET:

UNC
Uconn
Memphis
Pitt

I'd rather Uconn be the 2 just because I fear them losing to a 16. They almost did it in '06 and I don't think there's much difference between 2 and 1.

On a side note: I predict both UNC and Duke will not leave the state of North Carolina before the sweet 16. Happens every year.

One of them will leave the state. It never happens where both stays home. It's normally just the one that gets a one-seed.

I don't think Duke is a 1. No wins that stick out as saying "We're one of the four best teams".

Two wins over FSU are okay, but losses to BC and Michigan aren't okay (not that they are bad losses, but they aren't helping the cause... UNC lost to BC, too, but UNC also beat MSU, and swept Duke. It's one thing to play average teams, it's another to beat them.).

Getting swept by UNC is going to hurt, too. Same reason I think UConn is likely to be a 2. If you get swept by one of the 1 seeds, why should you be a 1 seed?

Edit: To clarify something that came across as stupid at first.

EXCEPT the 1 seed in the South is in the Greensboro pod as is the 2 seed in the East. I would bet my hat it winds up that way. I'm sure it's purely coincidental though.

I forgot that they do it like that now. I'm still thinking that it's one region at one location, etc.
