Its a little early...but considering that Liberty will be BIG-TIME by 2012

THE TAYLOR REPORT
NAME: Kelvin Taylor 14 years old....8th Grade Varsity Starter...ALL-STATE IN FLORIDA
SCHOOL: Glades Central
CITY: Belle Glade Fla
POSITION: RB
HEIGHT: 5-11
WEIGHT: 205
40 TIME: 4.5 (Reported)

Yeah expectations are probably high when your dad is an NFL running back, but making 1st team all-state as an 8th grader? I don't think so there are only a handful kids in the country who are even capable of that. Check out the roster, it's pretty hilarious:
1ST TEAM
Offense
QB Nick Bracewell, Mayo Lafayette, 6-2/190, Jr.
RB Tamorris Grace, Fort Meade, 5-9/175, Sr.
RB David Pittman, Hawthorne, 5-9/190, Sr.
RB Kelvin Taylor, Glades Day, 5-11/205, 8th grade
OL Joey Mroczkowski, Mayo Lafayette, 6-3/285, Sr.
OL Jonathan Inoa, Miami Dade Chr., 6-2/285, Sr.
OL Spencer White, Branford, 6-1/250, Sr.
OL Nahum St. Fort, Naples St. John Neumann, 6-3/310, Sr.
OL Josh Cuthbert, Glades Day, 5-10/260, Sr.
WR Xavier ****an, Moore Haven, 6-0/170, Sr.
WR Jamal Reid, Mayo Lafayette, 6-1/190, Sr.
PK Luke Cherry, Jacksonville Providence, 6-3/195, Sr.
UT Clint Trickett, Tallahassee North Florida Christian, 6-2/170, Jr.

That's right, every other player is either a junior or senior and there's Kelvin with a grade school number next to his name. How did he even pull this off? Well, at Glades Day since junior highers and high schoolers are in the same building, they felt it would be logical to let the younguns play for varisty sports if they were good enough.

I'm guessing this rule isn't enacted that much, as most 8th graders would be made into 12 year-old sauce playing football with 17 year-old seniors, but that's not the case with Kelvin, who as you can see clearly looks like he's 24 already.

I think it goes without saying that we should expect big things from this kid.

SCOUTING TAYLOR: From his first carry, you could tell that this is one of those football talents who will be on the radar screen for a long time. His size, athletic ability and bloodline points to success in this game.

As a runner, he has tremendous instincts for someone with very little experience – especially at the high school level. He break tackles, has surprising strength and great burst. His ability to feel cuts and see the field, even at this tender age of 14, is something that truly surprises. As he gets bigger and stronger, his confidence level will zoom off the charts.

This is a young man who wants to be on the field and make plays. Some young athletes are often shy and timid when mixing it up with athletes who are four and five years older. Not the case with Taylor who dazzles you with how much he has been able to pick up in such a short time at the varsity level.

So you picked the next Walker Payton and list him as a prospect?

Good luck with that

To be the best you have to beat the best..whether its recruiting or on the field of play Liberty should always set its goals high...I dont think Coach Rocco plans on getting creamed by West Virginia first game to be a continuing trend every season. Im assuming we want be competetive and eventually win some of these games.

Nope. High expectations does not describe this kid. If hes One of a Kind, regardless of where we are at we will have 0 shot at him.

Of course, he could have a connection to LU. But its unlike you to actually post something useful to Liberty.

lol

It's also going in and trying to get the walk-ons to quit the team at Liberty to play for your semi-pro team. That's useful.

If that post wasnt so far left field it would be almost funny...."go in to get a walk-on to quit the Liberty team to play for the semi-pro team..WOW thats a mouthful...of SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA. Anyone with any iota of sense would see that no one has ever had a walk on quit the Liberty team to play semi pro...True I have had 4-5 players leave semi-pro to walk on at Liberty and a few other colleges as well...True I have had 1 all-acc defensive back play for our semi-pro team while he was on hiatus from his college...he has since returned to college. True I have helped many former Liberty players get picked up by Arena and Canadian football teams....even drove one to an NFL tryout...

That post was just dumb you can edit this how ever you feel but really who cares. No one would ever ask a college athlete to quite a college team to play in a minor league. We have 5 guys on our roster now THAT STILL PLAY COLLEGE FOOTBALL and they only play withus during the summer months.

I wont be entertaining anymore idiotic statements on this board. Like I said I prefer to stay useful to the program will now ignore any furthur regurgitated blurps from people who seem to enjoy the taste.

I'm not sure how scouting out 12-year old's is all that useful to the program.

By the way, what does "ROFLLOFL" mean?

Also, three posts in 11 minutes without an interval reply may be a new record. It looks like SJ got under your skin there, troy.

So I did a little research on this kid and his highlight video is impressive. He doesn't look like he's 14.

However, he does not play at Glades Central -- which is 1,200 student public school with a respected and storied athletic program -- but rather at Glades Day School which is a private school with around 250-300 students in the high school. As such, those highlights and stats are racked up against much much much lower competition -- which might help to explain why a 5'10" 260lb lineman also made that all-state team.

In any event, he's completely unrecruitable for another 3 years at least so to label him as a prospect is ridiculous.
