Did you watch the game Shuck? UVA was in control most of the way. Clemson had one great run at the beginning of the second half.

Look at Clemson for the past several years. They have consistently choked down the stretch of the season every year. Have you not paid any attention to Clemson in previous years?

I'm not saying they haven't choked plenty of times in the past. I'm saying that I wouldn't call today a choke, since UVA led throughout most of the game. Typically you have to blow a lead to be considered as having choked.

Is it a game they should have won? absolutely! But let's look at the situations here.. UVA came into this game with nothing to lose, they haven't played well and Leitao has tried every combination under the sun that he can come up with. Clemson hasn't really choked down the stretch this year compared to others.. They just spanked Duke at home and held them to 44 points, I wouldn't define that as choking. This is a different Clemson team from the last few years...

Plus UVA was fired up with the emotion of Sean Singletary day.

lost at home to FSU after leading by 19. lost on the road at UVa, a team which they should beat no matter what the circumstances are. Lost 4 of their last 8 games. That is choking away late in the season no matter how you try to rationalize it.

That's not choking man, it's called getting into conference play... They are a half game back from being in 2nd place in the l standings, explain to me how that is choking? They are ranked 13th in both polls... choking to me is what Notre Dame did when they got in conference play...

Clemson will choke down the stretch of the season as long as Oliver Purnell is the head coach. He has consistently proven he is not capable of getting his teams mentally tough enough to close out the season strong. Man has never won a single NCAA tournament game as a head coach in 20 years - three were at Radford, so I guess those three years really shouldn't count against him in the whole NCAA Tournament wins thing. He's been awesome in the NIT, but the NIT doesn't really matter, especially for ACC schools...
03-04: they flat out sucked, hard to finish strong when you just simply suck
04-05: started out 9-3, finished 16-15, went 5-5 in last 10 regular season games
05-06: started out 11-0, finished 19-13, thus going 8-13 in their final 21 games, at one point lost 7 of 8 games beginning in late january and going into february
06-07: started out 17-0, finished 25-11, thus going 8-11 in the last 19 games, once against went on another 1-7 stretch from late january into february
07-08: started out 12-1, finished 24-10, going 12-9 down the stretch which isn't finishing strong in my book, made it to the acc championship game, but proved that was a fluke as they lost as a #5 seed (I believe) in the first round to Villanova after leading by as many as 18 points.

I know their history down the stretch.. I follow the ACC right in the triangle daily, but this is not the same Clemson team. I think they are a sweet 16 team given the current landscape of college hoops... Top 4 teams are very good, then its a toss up from 5-20....

they very well could be a sweet 16 team...but there are just certain schools that it is hard to believe until you see it and Clemson is one of those schools...

I do too. One of my friends said that Clemson really is not that good of a team because they play easy non conference games and when it comes to the ACC, they stumble!!!!!
(By the way, I DO NOT LIKE CLEMSON!)

Clemson started out 16-0. They have gone 7-8 in their past 15 games, 4-6 in their last 10, and just lost to a TERRIBLE Georgia Tech team that was just 2-14 in the ACC this year. Sounds like the same choking Clemson team to me, GMTM...
