Cremins Syndrome.
Any WEFs think this is payback (calculated or karmic) for CofC jilting him 4 years ago?

Marshall is back, about to step on the podium in the eagle room.
This is nuts, however, he's 20 minutes late, so maybe he changed his mind again

Players have filed into the room, the announcer on WRHI is saying that this is the biggest media circus in rock hill history.
Haha, I have to agree.

Still not on the podium, they just interviewed Torrell, he said "I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm just happy to see all these people I haven't seen in awhile. I guess it's not like he was gone long, and he has cleared the air with us."

They're busy trying to talk Peele off the ledge.

"The head coach of the winthrop eagles remains Gregg Marshall"
He is speaking now, he sounds exhausted.

I bet this is doing wonders for recruiting. This seems like a very stable organization.

I don't think he will get another shot at Bigger job, just depends... I heard he woke up this morning and walked into Peele's office said he was scared. Peele thought he was joking. He didn't like the C of C players, the C of C facilities were not good, didn't enjoy his time down there yesterday, and his wife didn't want to go....
My opinion it may hurt the WU program in the long run, look back at the Bobby Cremins decision to stay at Ga. Tech after accepting South Carolina job, Tech was never the same with Cremins.

Well, if he thinks he can maintain the same level of play, then he will definatly get another shot at an even better school. I thought accepting this job was stupid in the first place but I don't know how smart it was to change your mind. Yelling horrible things at him will be that much easier come his trip to the Vine's this year.

This is nuts... I just had this conversation with SJ (Lunch today.... KFC Buffett on Wards Road!!!!!) I think this is a great move, Marshall has got the talent back and this is group is close to making some serious noise... I think they can win a game in the NCAA Tourney, if I was him I would have stayed this year and raised my stock with another soild year, maybe another upset or two along the road and went after the big job next year...So it will be very interesting to see how they do this year now that he is staying..

I agree with one of the WU guys on their board that this is almost career suicide for GM. Will any of the big time ADs/presidents trust him now? It's great for Winthrop, though.
This also helps out a ton when it comes for making signs and crap when we play them.

yeah I am looking forward to your buzz sign when Coastal comes up here!!!!

I havent been keeping up with this board, so yall may have talked about it already, but did you see the $$$$ they were giving him on his new contract, I guess WU stepped up and matched it
But yes, I think he's nuts for not going, this was his chance at a TRUE mid major with a program that was something worth talking about several years ago

I thought the same thing HMO. We'll never know exactly what happened to make him change his mind.
