I think we are beginning to see who our likely partners might be in stepping up to I-A. Appy & Geo Southern are likely partners in the SoCon while JMU is a pretty obvious choice from the CAA with Delaware not far behind.

I still think the phrase "I-A" shouldn't come out of our mouths for five years. Let's win a few games over someone that's not D-2 first.

You have to have a plan in place for a considerable amount of time to make this step. We're obviously in the early stages. But its always good to verbalize your goals.

The folks up at JMU are being very careful about publicly making any longterm plans. But this is evidence that the school does see itself preparing for bigger things.

There seems to be cautious support for JMU on this one- I wonder if LU would garner that kind of backing. Somehow I doubt it- though we aren't THAT far behind them in terms of enrollment. The mentality will change after a few (5+) good "Rocco" years.

Meanwhile, Winthrop will still be bragging about only losing to Gonzaga by a few. (That was for you WEF- keeping you sharp)

and you are right- I stand corrected. I have to admit the Tenn loss WAS more impressive. And I can't believe I actually wrote that.

Lucky timing...I spent the hour before and after writing that message watching cheesy TV shows w/ the wife...

Heery International and local Virginia architect, VMDO, are designing the new Athletic Performance Center for James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The new facility will be located at the existing south end zone of Bridgeforth Stadium. In an effort to raise the “Dukes” to Division 1-A in the NCAA, the facility will provide a new home team locker room, training and taping areas, equipment storage, team meeting rooms and a weight / strength training room. Additionally, a player’s lounge and coaches’ offices on the upper floor are planned with portions of these areas serving a dual purpose by providing game-day VIP suites. A main entry two-story lobby will also serve as a Hall of Fame.

Academics are extremely important to James Madison University. Capping off the design, the facility will also house over 5,000 square feet of tutor areas, computer study rooms and other classroom type functions for all athletes.

This thread is 6 years old. AGS was destroyed and rebuilt a year or 2 ago

They should definitely finish what they started ... half finished it looks awful
