I don't think the Super Bowl is effected much by who is in the game because it has become such a media/entertainment event...sure some other teams being in the game may help the ratings a bit...but its not like the nba..people will watch no matter who is in the game

true, but i'd be willing to guarantee that a steelers vs. eagles super bowl would have most likely been one of the highest rated ever...

NBC execs=
The only thing worse would be if Baltimore wins the second game. Yikes.

yes. ravens vs. cardinals is a dreadful match up by all accounts. I will seriously consider not even watching if that is the match up. one team i hate (ravens), other team i don't care one lick about (cardinals), and it will most likely be a blowout and the commercials are apparently going to be a lot more bland this year too, so it might not even be worth watching for the commercials - which you can always go online and view all of them at one single website anyways, so you don't even need to watch it for the commercials anymore.

I would agree...
...but you have to admit...Warner trying to be the first QB to win a Super Bowl with 2 different teams...especially after being on the scrap heap 2-3 years ago...is a great story line.

good story, but not much of a ratings grabbing one in my opinion...people would simply rather see eagles vs. steelers than whatever story the cardinals can throw out there - cardinals are just simply not a team that will get the type of ratings the eagles can, regardless of rather the cards were to throw out a QB with only one eye.

barring a complete meltdown in the last 4:23, it looks like the NFL/NBC has their prayers answered with the Steelers going Bowling.

I think I'd be better off if I never payed attention to football. I hate the Stealers with every fiber of my being and I think it takes about a year off of my life every time I watch them win. And for some reason they're the local AFC team around here and they win a lot. I'm probably only gonna live to 40 or so. Every situation just seems to bounce their way. It's maddening.

you guys are retards....everyone in the midwest wanted to see the cards win....warner is a midwest boy, fitzgerald is an absolute superstar, and the cards are the first chicago team and still have alot of fans here in the midwest....
the worst thing that could of happened was an all pensylvania superbowl....

Mike Tomlin was a Denbigh product (If Im remembering it right...he was at one of those Peninsula schools) so having that local connection gives me something to want to root for the Steelers for, Even thought Im a Rams fan and I remember seein Kurt Warner and the boys win the Super Bowl when he was in St Louis.

This probably is a better thread to take my Cardinals hate.
