Of course, the Big South screwed up our own form of March Madness by separating the mens and womens tournament. Ahhhhh....those WERE the days.

Ive always been a big fan of Opening Day. If I had to rank those in terms of which Id most want to go to Id rank them:

1. MLB Opening Day (baseball was the first sport I got interested in when I was a child)

2. NFL Championship Sunday

3. Super Bowl Sunday (Only because there is about a 5-10 year wait for tickets)

4. Daytona 500 (Been a racing fan for a long time)

5. First Day of the NCAA Tournament

It's not even close. I don't understand how BJ could have it so incredibly wrong.

Well the NCAA Tournament is pretty cool Im not gonna lie LUConn, its just that I dont much have a rooting interest in it many years. I mean when LU was in it in 04 I was glued to my TV watching the game against St Joe's. When ODU made its run to the sweet 16 a number of years ago I was either watching on TV or sitting right by my radio listening to the games. Other than that, March Madness just never really excited me.

Everyone is entitled to their feelings about sporting events. If I was offered a choice between being in a box at my favorite MLB teams park on Opening Day and tickets to an NCAA tournament game Id frankly take the baseball tickets. Something about the general ambience at a baseball always excites me. If you think Im wrong then youre welcome to think that LUConn but that is simply how I feel.

I've had a legitimate rooting interest maybe 5 years in my life. It still is not even close. The NCAA tournament's first weekend is simply amazing.

It's not the same as the NCAA tournament, but people from North Carolina put day one of the ACC tournament up there. I remember watching the noon and 2:30 games in class in middle school and high school.

The new format has changed that a little. Thursday is not really a great day, but I know my schools back home still stop classes at Noon to watch or listen.......especially if dook, state, wake, or Carolina is playing in the early afternoon games.

Unfortunately, this year's Spring Break has been pushed up a week so now the 1st Round is during classes. I suspect an IPTV overload on campus this year.

Without looking it up, I couldn't name the last 5 winners of the Super Bowl for a million bucks.

Its always been more of a "lets get together to eat & laugh at commercials" kind of deal.

While I agree that the Superbowl is not even close to being a great sports event, I think you are part of the .005% of heterosexual males that can't name the last 5 NFL champs. 5 years wasn't that long ago. Heck it's only 4 teams.

We did the same thing. We'd watch the games during classes after lunch. We did the same thing for March Madness too.
