Shouldn't be a surprise at all. He came within a hair of doing it last year, and his successor, Jim Caldwell, was named at that time.

exactly...i don't know why i was surprised by it, but i was...i guess i thought he would try for one last deep run in the playoffs
but like sly said, nothing wrong with what he is doing...great guy

As a Hoosier I am sad to see Dungy go but i know he is going to continue to work within the Indianapolis community....i trust in his pick of The New coach

actually, I think his focus is going to be with Tampa Bay, as that is where his kids are currently enrolled in school.

Idk all I know is he said in an interview on local news and on ESPN that if he retired he was going to work full time with All Pro Dad (which is based in Indy) and he said he wanted to work with IPS (Indianapolis Public School) because are grad rates r so low.....

Actually All Pro Dad is a division of a large Florida-based ministry that includes many family-oriented divisions.
