Ok a few things...
1. Can yall pay him half his salary (like $50 a month) to keep him blogging while being gone?
2. He left you guys to work for a school district????? Really? I mean he wasnt THAT bad of a coach...
3. That was nice of him to not comment any further until he talks to his team.....HEY BOBBY A FEW OF THEM MIGHT BE ABLE TO READ, how about you waiting until you tell them to say anything at all

I'll bet about now that one of your famous alums might be available to get out of a contract down along the SC coast.

Dude, he's gotta keep the blog. He really does. That's the highlight of my work day a lot of times.

This makes me feel much better about losing the basketball game to come home to this.

I'm serious. This just made my night. Driving three hours to watch us lose, then driving three hours in the rain after we lose, and I get to Atlanta to read this. I'm sleeping with a smile tonight.

This is sad news for PC. I really do like this school and to see them let this coach go with one year left on his contract is not a good thing! I hope that he is not gettin paid for that last year:) I just have fond memories of this school because I scored a lot of goals against them:)

Perhaps the humor is to subtle for me because I'm not laughing. Before some of you get too giddy about this, just know that Bentley's departure has brought to light issues at PC that are bigger than Bobby and could potentially threaten our continued affiliation with Division I athletics. Just saying.

I'm laughing more at the fact that the guy has been whining since he got there, couldn't pass his recruiting test, posted what could be multiple violations in his blog, and then bolted when things weren't going the way he wanted.

I miss that blog already. It's gone now. All that remains is this excerpt from Dec. 19 that I e-mailed to a friend who laughed uproariously.
"Our women's basketball team played a great game against Stetson yesterday in front of a packed gym of elementary students."
Yes, those were the golden times.
RIP Bobby Bentley's Blog
Feb. 2007 - Dec. 2008
You will be missed

Either things are really really really bad at PC or Bentley has absolutely no character. The dude bailed on his ALMA MATER in January, a month before signing day.

From what I'm learning this morning, I think it's a little from Column A and a little from Column B.

Yesterday afternoon, head football Coach Bobby Bentley met with Dr. Griffith and me to let us know that he is resigning to accept a position as athletic director for Spartanburg County School District 5.
Coach Bentley told us that he has found the job of head coach to be all-consuming, thus he is unable to be the husband and father he desires to be. He said he also wants to return to being involved with high school athletics. After thoughtful and careful consideration, Coach Bentley feels this is what he is called to do and where his strengths lie as a leader and mentor.
Coach Bentley has done a wonderful job as our head football coach and laid a solid foundation for our continued transition into Division I FCS football. While I am disappointed to lose an outstanding coach and leader, I respect his decision and the reasons for it.
Earlier this morning, I met with and appointed Doug Malone, currently the offensive line coach on the football staff, as interim head coach. Coach Malone is an experienced leader and mentor and I believe the team is in good hands as we begin our search.
This afternoon we will hold a team meeting to discuss this with the players and answer their questions. We will also hold a press conference this afternoon to announce Coach Malone's appointment.
We will continue to keep you informed as this unfolds.

And we're supposed to feel bad about this?
