A Sea Of Red

Anyone else watching the Winter Classic hockey game today? It's the one game every year that I make sure to watch. There's something about watching a game in throwback uniforms and outdoors.

i love hockey and i really wish LU's team was more than just a club sport.
this is a great thing for hockey and i love watching it every year.

I watched the first period and then fell asleep, up late last night.

it was a real nice game until Cristobal Huet decided to suck...

redwings won it 6-4.

the last blackhawk goal came with like 3 seconds left in the game, making it look closer than it really was.

I watched it, too. Great hockey action by the Wings!

I turned it on, and fell asleep within a minute

nice game and a great atmosphere at wrigley...way better than buffalo last year.

I saw my second NHL game in exactly 1 year today! I did like the Buffalo game last year better simply due to the snow. Soldier Field would have been a better venue from a fan's perspective, but I understand the draw to Wrigley. Well done by the NHL. If all of the games were outside they might actually have viewers (especially for the games in Tampa and LA).

Several sacreligious Wrigley Field moments of note:
-Fireworks on the field
-Video replay boards in the outfield
-Music pumped into the PA that was not of the organ variety
-Banners with fake ivy on the outfield wall
*the home team did lose, so at least one tradition was kept.

its that time again, for outdoor hockey, this time in fenway park, with the bruins and flyers. looks like this is going to be a good one.

final score is 2-1 boston in overtime, heck of a game, sad to see us lose.
atmosphere:
the good: dueling "lets go flyers" and "lets go bruins" chants sounded awesome on tv.
the bad: the horrible "Sweet Caroline" rendition with 8 to go in the third.

Ya I got to say walking around Boston last night there were quite a few Flyer fans in Boston. Glad to see a lot of them show up to the game today.
