SuperJon wrote:VMI is scary good.I guess it depends on your definition of "scary good." Sure they've had a good start of the season, but not much better than ours. Beating Richmond is a good win, but not that good. Richmond wouldn't win the CAA.
jcmanson wrote:The only thing they have done which we didn't was win at Asheville.True--and referencing that loss still hurts.
jcmanson wrote: They beat Richmond at home. We beat George Mason at home. How close of a comparison is that?
Schfourteenteen wrote:Actually pretty close. George Mason was ahead the entire game against Dayton (12-1 and one of the favorites to win the A-10) before eventually losing 66-62.jcmanson wrote: They beat Richmond at home. We beat George Mason at home. How close of a comparison is that?
Either way, youre both saying the same thing. VMI will be very tough to beat.

They won at Kentucky. We won at UVA.
They beat Richmond at home. We beat George Mason at home.
They have 3 non-D1 wins. We have 3 non-D1 wins.
The only thing they have done which we didn't was win at Asheville.
SuperJon wrote:LU and Vmi have 2 common opponents. UVA and UNCA. We beat UVA at UVA. VMI lost at UVA by 10. but we got pasted by UNCA. and VMI beat UNCA by 9. My point is just like everyone else's we are going to have a tough time with VMI regardless. On any given day anyone can beat anyone on any court.jcmanson wrote:You realize you just made my point for me, right?SuperJon wrote:VMI is scary good.I guess it depends on your definition of "scary good." They're a good team. The game I saw them play they played a crappy first half and were tied at halftime (or only up a few). Next thing I know, four minutes into the second half they're up 20.

Yes they are a good team, but they can be beat on any given night.jcmanson wrote:You realize you just made my point for me, right?SuperJon wrote:VMI is scary good.I guess it depends on your definition of "scary good." I will say the officials helped VMI out a bit in that game though...especially with the carry call at the very end of the game. I really wanted VMI to win to help the Big South look good but I hated that call at the end of the game. The LU / VMI game is going to be a very good one and I cant wait to see it...I will be in Lexington for this one is any one else going to be there?+4

SuperJon wrote:But they are a scary team. There aren't many of those in the Big South this year. VMI is the only one that truly scares me.I will say that UNCA kinda scares me too. Just because they beat us so bad the first time. I know we are a different team now and that the next time we play them will be in the Vine's Center, but that 28 point shellacking will be in the back of our guy's heads and hopefully it will motivate them to blow them out, but it may, just may, scare them enough to get blown out again... That's the only reason they scare me. Other than that, Radford scares me. They are pretty good and have a good inside game.
