Breaking news from ESPN. WOW! I almost expect them to go ahead and splurge for Manny in order to break the new Stadium in with a BANG!

So much for parity in baseball.......Of course, the crew at YankSox media (also known as ESPN) are happy to hear this.

guess what happened last time the yankees got in a bidding war with the red sox for a major free agent? yanks got arod and haven't done anything worth talking since then.

This is a big signing for the Yankees. I am convinced they'll end up with Manny too. They're going to be hard to beat with that lineup if Manny is hitting in the 4 slot behind ARod.

They'll get Jeter on, move him over, then ARod will fly out and Manny will have to bail them out.

Well...there's now another player I have to hate.

Smart move by the Yanks...why over spend for a player (Manny) who will produce for 2-3 more years yet your paying him for 4-5 wither he's under contract or not...bring in a young guy in his prime thats putting up as good as numbers as Arod, Manny and others.


As a Sox fan I thought it would be fun to see Manny with the Yanks and Tex with the Sox...but I guess that was wishful thinking.

Lots of crying & gnashing of teeth in Baltimore (Tex is a Maryland native).

I just read that even with all of their signings, next year's payroll is actually lower than last years. ***** Obviously, with the commitment in over $400 million dollars in contracts in the last few weeks, they have increased their overall commitment. I thought GM Brian Cashman said he had financial constraints and was under a strict budget.

Yes, He hates them so much He has cursed them with 27 world championships.

I hope they sign Manny and are forced to move Nady and/or Swisher, and one of those two end up on the Braves.
